Idi is a man eater.
From Matty V's post game notes about Sandy not playing
Wojciechowski didn't want to get into the precise reason for the benching after Marquette's 66-61 victory, only saying, "He's got to do what he's supposed to do."
Skipped classes, hey?
McGuire did not suspend players for games. He did make some players before the game get on them microphone and apologized to the fans for embarassing the University. We did not lose to Creighton, but suspending a player can hurt everyone on the team and of course the fans. Unless there is a possible serious crime committed I am not sure suspending players for games is a good idea.

The last couple of months, Wojo was hurting the team and fans by playing Sandy - ha!
Wojo was asked about Sandy at the media availability today. His answer was "We'll evaluate his situation."

Anyone got the inside scoop on what went down? Almost sounds like Sandy won't be a go on Saturday from that quote

Don't know if I'd go that far, but it was an odd way of addressing it.

I was more pointing out the difference between McGuire and the current practice of many coaches across the country. I was not directly pointing this at Wojo. Buzz suspended plenty of players. I have no idea what Sandy did, if it is something very serious then I agree with it. However, if it is something else find a different way to punish him than suspending him, which could cost us a game.
I thought Sandy actually looked upbeat on the bench Weds. My guess is Wojo is keeping him in the dark on his status to make a point and keep the pressure on him. Sounds like Chief needs to show effort to make up for what he did or didn't do.
Any chance we could get Sandy's sister on the court Saturday if he can't play?

Or Wojo doesn't know because its out of his purview. (ie, missed assignment or some such)
Figurin' he missed class or somethin', hey?
Sandy's hard to figure out. He started the year great. He showed.a lot of leadership and athleticism. As the season progressed his play declined noticeably. Thank God JJJ went in the opposite direction and is playing great now. Wish the good Sandy would play with confidence again. We need his quickness, defense and good shooting.
