Rockets forward Steve Novak is expected to recalled today.
"Definitely, because we were down a guard," Adelman said of the decision to bring back Brooks. "But with Rafer being out and the type of injury he has, we need to get him back and get him in practice and see what he can do. He certainly has some skills we need. He can push the ball. He can shoot the ball. And he's got great quickness. You have to be sure when you throw him in the fire, he has a chance to succeed, too.
"Right now, we're trying to find people to be effective. If an opportunity presents itself, I would not hesitate to play him."
i agree that he can shoot. however, as much as i love novak, he just isn't quick.
Yeah he can sure shoot it but i dont know about quick either.
Nor is he strong enough to be able to play inside defense or rebound effectively....that article doesn't sound too promising that he'll be up for long...I'm glad he's playin well in the NBDL tho, increases his odds of somebody taking a chance on him next year and givin him some PT.
Novak was a side comment in the article. The quickness was refering to Brooks. The article was mainly about Brooks who is moving up with Alston being injured.
But yes, I hope Novak gets some minutes.
Me, too.
Encouraging is his call-up, but you can pretty much call them rehearsals because he wasn't smoking the net in DL. There were guys consistently scoring higher than him (and shooting a better percentage!) in the DL.
I am hoping for the best for Steve.
