1. Let's worry about this next year.

2. A little punctuation would go a long way.

lets put it this way... with him we are really good... without him we are good... im not so worried either way we are light years ahead of where we were 10 years ago

DJ is a great talent, and we've always been better with him on the court.  However .. unlike other historical years, we're pretty deep at guard.   It's not like Joe Chapman (bless his heart) is going in for NBA-bound Travis.  No one cringes when MoAck or Cube brings up the ball.  They aren't as talented as DJ, but they are within spitting distance.

At this point, we might be more hurt as a team if Burke went to the NBA, with Ooze graduating!

lets look at this year... we are very good this year...  I think next year with or without James we will be sweet sixteen, Cube and Acker can hold the point down just fine

If James goes to the NBA it is good for the program from a long term point of view.  TC oversubscribed the scholarships again next year and if James comes back and nobody else transfers, then probably one of our incoming freshmen is going to be told that there is no ship for him here.  I do not think that would be good if more or less the same thing happens 2 years in a row.

Mr. Hayward: The DJ issue has been discussed ad nauseum, so has the nickname, so has anything related to Crean, so has the non-conference schedule.

speak in english and maybe some other posters can give you some meaningful feedback.
of course eric gordon isn't transferring here, why would he transfer? With the scholarship situation, I don't think Crean is counting on any transfers

Dude what are you on? Couple of points
1) There is no chance in hell that he's a top 10 draft pick. Just not going to happen.
2) Nobody said anything about wanting him to leave, people just said that we'd be fine without him, there are other options... learn how to read.
3) Can you please try and type in English I can barely read what you write

he is just stating that if Burke would leave the team, it would hurt the team more then if James left... which I agree with...

lets face it, this team is stacked at the guard position, not at the Bigs position.

Lastly, can we end this discussion, I, and the rest of the muscoop community right now is confused with Mr. Hayward's language on here, as it misses a lot of needed words.  But anyways, lets face it, we have a top 10 team right now, next year is next year?  does this place needs a Bill Belicheck attitude (not camera work)?

Did someone say something about Eric Gordon transferring here?

Only place he'll be transferring to is the NBA...

Final Four team or National Champ. MR. HAYWARD, dude, you been hitting the bottle with mudimitri?

First off, nice to see that you believe in the talent here- once again your like a girl who doesnt wanna set her expectations too high so she doesnt end up getting hurt in the end.

If James stays, how is that team not a legit Final 4 threat? Everyone we have now, with mbakwe and two more good freshmen and that teams not good enough for a final 4 or national championship. All the senior leadership and experience to go along with some nice underclassmen and you cant see it happening? The team would be near the top 5 pre-season and probably favored as BE champs and thats not good enough for a final 4? unreal

That said i dont care about next year right now I care about this one and like I said from day one this team is a sweet 16 or bust, elite 8 = pretty good season, final 4 = great season........after watching the team play for a handful of games Id think that anyone who knows basketball can see that this team has a shot at a Final 4, but dont let yourself believe it because the hurt if it doesnt happen may be too much

which  makes it even more noteworthy that multiple ppl complained. you know your spelling and grammar is bad if multiple ppl complain on an internet forum

FYI, I'm one of the cats on this board who isn't satisfied to just get an invite to the tourney or win a game or two. I've always said the Warriors should be in the national championship mix each year or Crean isn't doing his job. Others, like Chicos, think expectations are set too high and it can't be done at a non-BCS school, in MKE, in cold weather next to a lake, where there are ugly chicks, yada, yada, yada.
But, dude, it ain't happening this year or next, with or without James, with or without Crean, etc. MU simply doesn't have all the pieces to the puzzle yet. For now, you should be happy if we just keep playing deep into March. To think otherwise, is just showing all of us your basketball IQ.

DJ has shown a marked advancement in maturity this year.  The only complaint I have right now is his lack of development in a 3pt shot and his insistance on continuing to take them (but he is passing up more than in the past, which is good).  I want him back next year more than anything.  And if someone incoming has to lose a scholarship, so be it.  We will have a top 5/national title contender.

Freeway: "What yet has Mike Deane not accomplished at Marquette?"
Me: "Uh... a national championship?"
Freeway: "No... a national title."

While your posts may not lead to coherent discussion, you have become my favorite MUSccop poster in the span of one day.  It takes skill to evade as many grammatical rules as you have.

maybe my basketball IQ is off, but you did a great job of contradicting yourself. you think we should be in the national championship hunt yearly, yet anyone who claims a Final 4 run is within reach has been hitting the bottle? or perhaps we should be happy enough with playing deep into march, i guess 'deep into march' means winning through the first weekend now? or maybe you are saying crean isnt doing his job cause we arent national contenders yearly?

I dont think we should be national contenders yearly, but this year and the next, if DJ stays, maybe the best shot we get in a while so enjoy it and believe in it and instead of worrying about the 'missing pieces' why dont you concentrate on those pieces that are there.

Also, everyone thought we had many missing pieces in '03, noone gave us a shot of beating Kentucky and getting there, but those pieces had a different idea

It could be because it's well past 2am and I've been cramming since 2pm Sunday for my final final of the semester, but I laughed for a good five minutes after reading this.
