IU and UW in OT right now.
Can they both lose? Please? Eff the RPI tonight.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Go IU!
I had the same conflict, nuclear device is the correct answer.
UW will win when you shoot 19 more free throws then IU
UW 9-9 and then beats Mich St and Indiana. It is really going to suck when they make NCAA tournament again.

Tactical nuke. Can't take out Smokey's.
Good announcers in this one. I'm happy for Wisconsin as I hate IU more

They're in a worse spot than MU.
Ok, back to watching Moonshiners.

Both are likely screwed. UW has to go to MSU, MD, and Iowa yet. Likely looking at a minimum of 12 reg season losses.

No they are not. All they have to do is finish .500 in Big 10 and win one conference tournament game and they will be in. They are 4-4 after being 1-4.
One bad loss on a season can turn some posters here into whiny little babies.

HA! also, one not phenomenal win.......
I prefer for all ex Marquette coaches to win. In this case the silver lining is it is a good win for a team we beat .

Not true. 9-9 puts them at 17-14 I believe. Not good enough. 10-8 is close
For both MU and Wisky, they can play there way into the tournament by beating Top 20 teams, beating Indy and MSU are good victories, but beating a road team is
even better. MU has 4 games against Butler, Creighton and 1 left with GTown, those 5 games will decide there fate.
Entertaining game.
Hayes and Happ were studs. Yogi is something else.
Cracked me up when the play-by-play guy was talking about Crean making the players run if they have too many turnovers, and Dakich said, "That's not unusual. Lots of coaches do things like that."

Fwiw 18-14 has made the NCAA tourney twice as at large bids in the last 10 years

eFG% reigns supreme, a'inal? UW shot 56.2%, I4 50.8%.
Through 8 games, including last night, I4 is shooting 58.0% eFG against B1G opponents.
(BTW, a week and a half ago I was at the I4 at Minn game.. Gophers shot 18 more free throws than I4... and lost... although it was OR's that got I4 the win in that one)

U dub shot free throws very poorly, especially in the last two minutes of OT. IU could have won, but missed two bunnies right at the rim. IU followed up with a foul. U dub missed one of two, and still won.

That would be iffy. However Indiana was 20-13 last year with a 9-9 record and got in.

The big difference is tht UW is playing well and MU is not. I expect UW to get a lot more wins going for war than MU will.

Lol. They have two more losses than MU. They have 2 losses worse than any loss MU has, and MUs Providence win on the road is as good or better than any win they have.
Unlike most around here, I don't really root against Wisconsin. I grew up in MN so I don't really give a crap. I don't root
for them, persay, but a win for Wisconsin only helps our resume. But to say they're in better shape today than MU is, well you'd be wrong. But in all reality, they're both pretty screwed.

Per the RPI Wizard, if they go 9-9 (I gave them the wins they are supposed to get or most likely), they would finish with a RPI of 62. That's going to be tough to get into, but possible. IU had a 63 last year. Wisconsin's margin for error is very small, however. Likely will have to pick up a conference tournament win as well.

So our win at Wisconsin will help our seeding?

It will likely be negated by our scrimmage loss to K State a few year ago

No, the Stanford scrimmage loss this year.
That was Michael Beasley's coming out party (41 points), after all. We were already penalized for that one in that season's NCAA Tournament seeding.

Did you mean to use teal?
Kenpom:Wisconsin #57
Marquette #120
RPI:Wisconsin: #68
Marquette #117
I hate Becky but they are more likely
Edit: typo
Wisconsin is tough at home at home in conference, always have been. They still have no meaningful road wins, save at Cuse, who currently sits 11th in the ACC.
They still have to play Purdue, Maryland, Michigan St, and Iowa on the road. As well as an improving Michigan team and an underachieving OSU team at home. I think odds are pretty good they go 9-9 in conference without a top 50 RPI road win and losses to a 250+ (WIU) and a 150+ (UWM) at home. Its gonna be a hard sell there.
Whoooo caaaaares?
The thread started about the horrible conundrum of having to see either IU or UW get a win. Since then it morphed into a bunch of people whining and complaining that UW might actually be better than Marquette :'( or might go to the NCAA Tournament when Marquette doesn't :'( or could go .500 in conference when Marquette doesn't. :'(
Grow a pair. It is what it is. We're transitioning from a bare cupboard back to the best program in the state (reminder: we won at the Kohl Hole).
If you can't handle UW doing well go be a fan of them. Or find a team like Duke where you never have to worry about missing the Tournament to be a fan of. The last 2 years have turned MU fans into a bunch of wussies.

I still vote for the tactical nuke deployment next time they play. 8-)

I'm with you Rican. Fact is, I don't give a sh1t about Wisconsin in any way. But I do dislike the Bronzed Beast of Bloomington. Once he gets canned I will go back to not giving a sh1t about IU.
