Dawson delivers in waning seconds as Flames top Panthers
John Dawson was not going to be denied.
The Liberty redshirt-sophomore guard was able to absorb contact on a drive to the basket and converted at the rim with 1.5 seconds remaining to lift the Flames to a 69-67 victory over High Point on Saturday afternoon at the Vines Center.
Dawson scored all 11 of his points in the second half. He shot 5 for 6 in the final 20 minutes after missing his five first-half shots. The 6-foot-2 guard also added team highs of seven rebounds and six assists.
The Flames (7-15, 4-5 Big South) went to Dawson on the final two possessions, and he delivered both times.
"I wanted the ball in my hands," Dawson told Nate Haywood, of the Liberty Champion.
Overall....
Liberty is not doing great this year but he's playing well and is one of their bright spots. Greetings from our Family also.

John traveled on that drive. Glad he is doing well though.
So Dawson, who would've been a junior for MU this year, was 5-11 agaisnt a bad Big South team.
Nothing against the guy and wish him the best but he doesn't seem to be exactly tearing it up.
Superbar. At best.

That "bad" Big South team FYI is rated higher than was DePaul. And a review of their roster shows Liberty is equally young as MU. Except of course Liberty has no Top 100 or McDonald's All American's on their roster, unlike MU - which effectively makes the game more difficult. No reason to hate on the kid. Wojo didn't want him, and he's gone on to show he's a good player.

Sure, shows he's a "good" player in a way way worse conference.

Hi Ners
A Hoopaloop-Meatball beer summit is the dark matter that will destroy our galaxy.
Big deal, make sure to tell Brent

That will never happen. For more than one reason.

Shoot!(and thanks) I'll change it back in the AM but I'm going to stick with the Archie Bunker quotes as a response to his "meatheadery" to see how far the schtick will be humorous.

SOB! I need to re-evaluate my life, or my alcohol consumption, when I come that close to the infamous quote.
Congrats to the big GW shot, John.
Yeah. Three steps though.

Ha! It was the first thing to pop into my head when I saw your post.
That was almost three years ago and I still laugh at that video. With that being said, go Marquette, beat Pittsburgh.
