Title: St. Johns Game Thread
Post by: RushmoreAcademy on January 24, 2016, 03:22:52 PM
Anybody else watching live?
... too lazy to read the other threads to see if I'm not supposed to be posting about the game.

Now that's what I call one half of a college basketball game.
Trying to not spoil anything.
Let me just say this.
Kylo Ren kills Henry Ellenson.

I don't get this. You don't think there should be MU game discussion during the actual game? Why not have a live game thread and not live game thread? This game is easily available for everyone to watch NOW but we should cater to those who chose to wait?

Not sure if I can change the subject. Decent half. Still some dumb turnovers and fouls. We are starting to see the Duane we have been hoping for. Hopefully, we can have a good half and get some momentum for Stetson.

This is dumb.

Marquette is playing like butt and leads by 8 at half.

Wilson is looking like the player I expected coming into the year. If we have any chance during the tourney, we need him to get hot and Ellenson to put up a 20/10 "Custards last stand' type effort."

Yep, no signs of a real "bounce back" performance after the humiliation vs Depaul.

Besides Ellenson not finishing and Fischer picking up some weak (read dumb) fouls, I thought we were playing alright.

Up 13 and could've been up a lot more.

Yeah alright is how I'd describe it. Not playing like our hair's on fire which is what I hoped to see. St John's is awful

I don't know what ABR is but the stream is great here.  Even hooked it up to the tv.

Team looking good - defense turning into offense.

ABR = Adaptive Bit Rate

On my PC, it is really bad.  On my iPad it looks pretty good.  Normally what a streaming service does is create multiple codec versions based on screen sizes and viewing devices so that it can adapt to what the internet speed is, the size of the screen, etc.

I'll watch the rest of the game on the iPad.

Nothing more frustrating than Duane forcing it between 5 defenders then thinking he can make up for it on the defensive end only to foul a 3 point shooter while up 12.  You're a 3rd year sophomore kid, time to move beyond the 9th grade plays.

Stuff like what's going on now, this is where I speak about experience and the lack of it.  That will change over time, but it is difficult to watch at times with the young mistakes.

It's funny, if you watch the video that MU put out two days ago about the team there is a spot early on in it where Wojo is at practice and he loses his crap a little bit for inbounding the ball exactly where they are inbounding it.  He stops practice, screams at them and explains why it is so bad to inbound it there due to trapping.  So he knows, but I don't know why they are continuing to do it.  The guard has to come get it or feed it to the middle.

Road teams winning more often than the home team in the BEast this season to date. .. 58% of the time. Interesting.

MU's eFG% was 53.8%.. St. John's 41.3%

eFG% reigns supreme.
