Back home from trying to go to game. We were parked on I-43 for over a half an hour just south of Oostburg. They finally routed us through a turn around and sent us north on I-43. Unfortunately the free way stopage was apparently due to someone driving the wrong way on I-43 causing a serious accident resulting in at least two deaths.

Very sad for the people involved.

Yea. Crazy. It's amazing how many national championship teams don't play 10 players every game. I don't know how they do it.

Carter needs to take the lay up. Why this team thinks it can shoot a ton of threes is beyond me.

Well, we're having many defensive breakdowns this game. Most likely attributable to having a inexperienced guys play more than they're used to. Sucks.

What a terrible game.  Wojo better rip them again at halftime.

Henry: 2 for 8, 3 rebounds, 3 turnovers and is defense is just, well bad.  Myke Henry eating him for lunch right now.  How will he defend anyone in the NBA.

MU getting pulverized on boards again.  22 to 13, with offensive 11 to 4.  Just not fair, game after game.

and, like Wojo said, getting "three happy", going 3 for 10.

Good to see Anim/Heldt coming in and providing some effort, along with a subdued Duane Wilson keeping them in game.

Anyone watching this halftime special?  It looks like our guys wear sport bras in practice.  Do those capture biometric readings or something?

I think their game is off because they practiced in sports bras all week. Better put those things on at half.

See...here's what bugs me about this.  Marquette is not *likely* to make the tournament this year.  But...you could have watched the 1st half of the Marquette/Villanova game and said..."If anyone still thinks Villanova can somehow make the tourney, I hope they're watching. It is not happening this year"

You can base that opinion off a whole body of work, but not a half, that would be stupid.  That, and I still think Marquette is going to have a good 2nd half, and potentially make the NCAA tournament.

DePaul is crashing four players for offensive rebounds.  We really need to release some guards down court to make them pay when we get the defensive rebound.  We should be trying to get some transition baskets with them over-committing on offensive boards.

Even without releasing, we are getting out rebounded 22-14.

There has been at least 4 times already where on the defensive end we watched the rebound hit the floor.  Nobody seems the least bit interested in actually going after the ball.

Here's the thing though, for the past week I read from various posters how good Xavier and Nova are. And they claimed it was their play that made MU look so poor for many parts of those games. In many ways ignoring the way MU played. Yet against DePaul, perhaps the worst team in conference, I saw the same level of play in the 1st half as those games. So, my comment is based on much more than just 20 mins of ball.

52-47

MU up and Fischer misses two free throws, could have gone up seven.  HUGE......

MU has 4 turnovers in next seven possessions and Wilson make miracle touchback shot.  Then the last play, the guy goes full court and NO defense.  None.  What terrible defense, can't recall a guy going all the way, it's usually an outside shot.

Agree.  Those two missed FTs took the wind out of our sails.  You could just tell we weren't scoring on the next couple possessions, as we didn;t even get into our offense.

Once Garrett took the ball inside the three point line, my immediate thought was, "Good, worst case is overtime."  I was wrong in a big way.

Damn work, I only got to see the last 6 min. but nyg (which I've always hoped stood for New York (football) Giants) is right on regarding those FT's. In the limited amount of the game I saw, I think about 50% of our possessions were terminated by a TO. I think it was the same 5 guys the whole time (HE, Haanif, JJJ, Duane, and Luke Benefisher. No sign of Traci.

Losing by 20 at home to SHU, losing at home to DePaul - gonna be kind of a lost year. Maybe there'll be another exciting upset, but it looks pretty much like we're in with the bottom feeders in the BE.

Patience, patience, respect the process.

Looked like Luke's arm came down directly on the guy's head.  Given Luke's lack of reaction, he knew it as well.
