That's actually startling. I'd take that action if I were a gambler. I expected MU to be +4 or +5.

That's right where Pomeroy has it.
better than 19

a lot better to play at the BC than the Pavilion. In any event, this is going to be a very stern test for our young Warriors.
We lost by 15 @ Nova, while they lost by 31.
Shouldn't we be 16-point favorites? Maybe more with the home court?
I'll take Xavier. Vegas isn't stupid, they want people to take mu. You want to have games where you are scratching your head saying "I can't believe we are favored by that much!"

Yep add 3 more...MU 19pt favorite!
Big, deep, physical, experienced, shoots the ball well from 3. What could possibly go wrong?

Why would this be startling? We lost at home by 3 to a mid major who has been pretty poor so far this season, went to overtime to a low major at home, got the doors blown off at home by a very good team, beat a bunch of cupcakes at home, got the doors blown off at home by a team that will be at best a bubble team, and needed a 2nd half comeback to beat the worst team in the BE at home so far this season. Meanwhile, Xavier has 1 loss on the entire season, smoked an okay Michigan team on the road, smoked a decent Dayton team on a neutral site, handily beat a good USC team on a neutral site, beat a good Cinci team at home, smoked a good Butler team at home, and get the return of one of the better freshman in the conference.
This has a Xavier double digit win written all over it.
IF we lose, we'll be back at the beginning, pining away...But if we win...
what a roller coaster.
SH blowout - not expected and falling fast
GT loss - down faster
PR win - woosh! back up again
STJ win - expected...clackty clack...still going up!
NOVA loss - expected but a downer
XAV win? - unexpected and climbing high
XV loss - law of gravity and back where we started.
I'd take Xavier. Think we're looking at another 15-20 point loss. Hope I'm wrong, but Xavier just seems like a terrible matchup for us. Strong, physical bigs, numerous reliable shooters, and a zone that will give us trouble.
Warriors by 9.
Geez, what's wrong with you guys?

Not saying I'd take Marquette or Xavier. Just saying that an 8.5 point spread is not stunning at all. If anything I'd think it'd be higher given the top teams we've played at home have done to us, and that if Xavier wins this game, given how many top 10 teams have lost this week, they will probably be ranked in the top 5 in the country next week.

I will take some of that action. Can I have Xavier +8?

I will let you know when I am in town.

Your chili or Real Chili??
I make a damn good replica of RC. My kids love it. Dunks loves it too. It's the only reason he invites me to go fishing in Canada...I bring the chili.
Yes, my RC, served at my house. 8-)

Too bad I'm too far away. Son was going to invite me over for a game but he is away for work every weekend MU plays. He'll be in Jersey for work during BE Tournament so we might make it to NY for the tournament.
Ive watched X most of their games this year. I like our match ups, especially Up front. I'm taking MU in this game. Easy bet to take mu to cover.
It's one bracket projection and WAY too early but CBS has both X and Nova as 1 seeds.

8.5 doesn't feel so bad against a 1. Also, triple props to Iowa for knocking MSU off the 1 line to make room.
Court storming tomorrow?
Hopefully we just act like winning is still expected

There are no easy games for MU to cover. Vegas is dropping 8.5 to get suckers into thinking the home team can win.

Or to get people who think because X is ranked #7 it's an easy double digit win
Goes both ways
This one is an easy game for MU to cover. Just like the JFB v Holloway game.
I think Xavier takes this one pretty easily if we don't get the ball in the post more often

They're not trying to sucker anybody. They want equal money on both teams to limit risk and then take the juice.
I think we win todsy. Really wish Sumner was out for one more game but still think we get the W.
