Marquette opened as a 19-point underdog in its trip to Villanova tonight, which caught my attention, as I didn't recall Marquette ever being given so many points. After a bit of searching, it turns out that my initial assumption was correct. Marquette has only been given 19 or more points once since the 1999-2000 season, [...]

That's a very interesting chart and for those who take solace in beating the spread -- I don't, but maybe some do -- it does give hope that we can do so.
The chart does give a cautionary tale, though: Twice within a 6-week stretch last season, we were 14-point underdogs to Villanova. We lost by 18 on the road and by 35 at the BET. So our recent history against Nova has not been as an underdog delight!

The line tonight is -16.5. Were 1-0 against teams when thats the line. Were winning tonight!
