Does Cracked Sidewalks have stats. on a good shooting percentage for hook shots?
I don't thing hook shooting is big in the BIG East or CBB for that matter. Does HE have a hook shot? Did BO ELLIS use the shot?

Just as long as the non-existent paychecks keep rolling in.

I think Al would have recruited painted sidewalks just like cracked ones... Especially if it was graffiti.

Ha, I love me a good Painted Sidewalk.
As for the actual question, I don't have any hard data of his percentage on baby hooks, but going by the eye test, it is definitely not good and getting worse. He gets great positioning and has proven to hit that shot with ease against smaller players. The problem is his lack of physicality against players his size, IMO. The book is out on Luke. Play him tight, make him uncomfortable, rough him up. We attributed the "softness" to the shoulder last year, but it's looking to not be the case. He needs to go to the Davante school of drawing contact and finishing through people.
No. Hes had a bad few games. He and his baby hook will be just fine

Good point in calling it a "baby hook". It is not a hook shot. Bentil showed us a couple of actual hook shots the other night.
A 6'11" guy should be releasing a hook shot above the rim. Fischer does not.

He's getting pushed out a further against the good teams and he's not too good at that hook from a little further out. He just needs to work on that shot from 7-10 feet. We need to get him the ball off penetration more often rather than dumping it down to him and have him try to beat the double team from the low blocks. A 3 point threat for him to kick back out to when he doesn't have great position it would do wonders for him.

The first lesson taught at Davante's School of Drawing Contact and Finishing Through People would be to weigh close to 300 pounds while being nimble and "the strong kind of fat." It's not for everyone.
Luke is not soft. He's a physical player. He's just not as big and strong as many of the big men in the BE. He's not a broad-shouldered, thick lower body type of guy so he can occasionally get muscled out of position. The hook shot isn't the issue. The issue is getting the ball in a better position and knowing when to kick it out if he doesn't have good position. A 4-foot hook shot is much more difficult when you're 6 feet away from the basket.
He needs to pass the ball back out when he is defended well.

Defenses have been doing this against him and HE, most noticeably the SH game. They are especially overplaying Luke to his right, daring him to go left. I have yet to see him go to his left.

False.
He goes left all the time. Re-watch ANY game. He just isnt very good (yet) at the left handed baby hook against a D of any size.

This.
Merrit's. You are so correct. Fischer is taking 4' shots from 6 feet away. It seems like his shots hit the front of the rim most times.

Really?
The CS guys should throw up some ads. Even my little website brings in a hundred-or-so a month thanks to ad revenue.
I agree with the posters who say that Luke needs to kick it back out when he is well-covered. Part of that is on Luke, but there have been a number of occasions where the shooters migrate away from his side, so there is nobody in Luke's line of vision. Wojo needs to make sure a shooter knows to go to the perimeter on Luke's side when we dump it into him.
His hook can be very dangerous when teams aren't able to collapse the D on him.
Luke is very rigid and predictable with his post moves, he doesn't seem to adjust well. He decides what move he's going to make and then keeps going no matter what the defense does. It seems like he just keeps trying to move to the middle of the lane going one direction directly toward the defender for the jump hook when a back spin toward the baseline would be wideopen and give him a better look. He's fairly athletic for a guy his size, but he seems to be trying to use strength to push into the defenders instead of using his quickness and a fake to go around them. He's not going to outmuscle many people in the Big East.
Luke really needs to develop a face up game of some kind. Way too predictable now and the offense slows to a stop when he has the ball.

Painted Sidewalks is one thing, just don't try to Google "Crack Touches".
I just wish his contested layups wouldn't rattle off the rim all the time....its maddening! :o ?-(
Just use the Force Luke

He just needs a sports psychologist to convince him he can make every one, along with the little put backs he tends to miss.
Luke should just rise over every defender and dunk it every time. Yes, that should be his strategy.
Now that we have a post asking if Luke should shoot hook shots and if Hank should shoot 3's, we need others asking if Haanif should shoot after driving from the right, if Carter should shoot at all, and if Duane should shoot his barber.

Should Wally stop shooting free throws? He is only shooting 44%, so....
Don't blame Duane's barber. Duane has clearly been avoiding him for far too long.
