I suggest that we create a new user group that has all of the privileges of us normal users, but that disallows posting new topics.
I think it would be funny to put Heisenberg into this user group for a week or two.
Probably don't have that function, but maybe a Heisenboard would work, all Heisy all the time.
I remember there was a function (not sure if in SMF) that was a silent ban. The user could post to his heart's content, but NO ONE could read it or know he was posting. Seems quite delicious.
Not that we'd do that to our buddy Heisenberg.

We are running the same forum software for another site I administer. Under admin>permissions we have a number of different user permission groups that we have set up to compartmentalize which forums are available to each user.

You can add new membergroups here:

And then assign people new member groups via the dropdown on their Account Settings page here:

This is going to be a very complicated, time consuming joke. But I believe in you!
Actually Skat, it's way easier. There's a "read-only" option when you ban someone. We actually have a few people already in that group.
edit: Oh, but I see you goal was just new topics, not posting at all. Yeah, we could, but even heisy doesn't deserve that.

But... it might make me chuckle!
This is hilarious
I believe in free speech no matter how annoying. Should we move this to the politics board?

Filthy liberal.
Shouldn't Topper be handling this?
