Tonight Wojo mentioned that his time with Coach K on Team USA basketball allowed him to speak with Jim Boeheim. Apparently, Wojo was able to take some zone defense knowledge from the interactions.
True, Wojo had zero head coach experience before MU. And, true, I'm one of those who wishes Wojo would have an older HC on his bench. But I also really think he's got a ton more knowledge and experience than we might be giving him credit for. Duke, Team USA, etc. I'm sure he's spoken with dozens of elite college and NBA personalities.

I completely agree about the ton more knowledge that we give him credit for but I do have to point out that all of his experience comes with the best college players in the country, or the best Pros or best youth players etc etc. It did concern me how he'd do with players with a lower basketball IQ than he's used to.

Not necessarily IQ. Talent IMO is probably the biggest difference between MU and Duke.
Translating all of that knowledge from lead assistant to the big chair is the challenge.
