Title: JFB Breaks Jordan Record
Post by: Sheriff on January 03, 2016, 04:58:32 PM
40 points in the second half after taking an elbow to the mouth.  MJ had the previous team record of 39.

Just watched the entire game. What a great performance by JFB.  He's playing with some attitude this year.
On top of that, my five year old twins girls just started watching games and the only player whose name they remember when a game comes on is Jimmy Butler.

Jimmy's success is such a wonderful story.  One of the true workers in the sport.  It is a real joy to get to see him play on my hometown team.

Having said that, the organization needs to be fully embracing the fact that this is now "his" team (and not Derrick Rose's).  For whatever reason, the team (management) still seems bent on creating the perception that Rose is a leader and he is one to take charge.  Rose missed yet another game today, while Jimmy played hurt and still performed beyond expectations.

As a Bulls fan, it is an absolute joke that Jimmy is still introduced first in starting lineup introductions (the Scottie Pippen role) and that Rose is still introduced last (the MJ role).  It is abundantly clear whose team this is.

I agree that'd it's Jimmys team and also think that anybody with 2 working eyes can see that (which may be why Reinsdorf doesn't) but do you think that this could be some tactic to try and increase Rose's trade value? They really need to get rid of him ASAP.

Historic performance after getting stitches in the 1st half.  In the post game, Jimmy didn't want to get compared to MJ, but what was incredible is Jimmy was also getting it done on defense as the Raptors had a big double digit lead when he returned.  Pau hugged him at the buzzer, and the team mobbed him.  DRose was even excited.

Gotta hand it to Jimmy.  He took a lot of heat for vocalizing his leadership ambition and then challenging Hoiberg to be more assertive.  What he did tonight spoke more about leadership than anything he's said to the media this season.

I hope you are teaching the girls Jimmy's middle name!

Rose has no trade value and there's little they can do to manufacture it. They'll probably be stuck with him for the length of his contract.
