I thought it would be good to keep a thread that semi-regularly tracks our non-RPI rankings, so we don't all have to go searching all over the internet for them. While I certainly agree that RPI is important to mind, given the committee's continued reliance on it, these other metrics also give us a sense of how the team is trending.
As of 12/15:
KenPom: 72
Sagarin: 69
BPI (ESPN's system): 73
Value Add*: 129
Interesting that there is some consensus among these other systems to place us around ~70. Given our schedule so far, that seems about right currently--a team on the bottom side of the bubble; able to beat lower level teams and those in our general range, but still have to show that they can compete with NCAA caliber teams to earn their way into the tournament.
*I'm not sure how bama feels about using the value add for team rankings, but thought I'd throw it in here as well.
A good "concensus" rating site...Has MU at 74

IMO, this thread is an awesome idea. Thanks for getting it started.
To me, it seems that MU having numerical rankings above its value add total suggests that the team is outperforming expectations, i.e. the sum is greater than the total of its parts. Kudos are due to Wojo, if this is, in fact, the case.

South Dakota State is ranked 47, let's pull 'em into the Big East!
Dang, they have football.

There are 68 bids and I am estimating that 12 will go to conference tournament champions who are no where near the top 70. 68-12 = 56, so a 70 ranking does not make you a bubble team.

Think you are being a bit nitpicky, but ok.
I meant that I don't think they are currently a tournament team based on results, but they are in that discussion with the opportunity to play in (or out) at this point. Isn't that what we mean by a bubble team?

I am a grad of both schools and that would be fun. They play football in the Missouri Valley and the rest in the Summit League, so the football split would not be a big deal
Now back to reality: Not a good idea.

Thanks for the link--nice site. Makes it a lot easier than hunting them all done individually.

FIFY
Bilas Index (clearly primarily subjective but he does seem to have a real passion for it - and he obviously has a decent 'eye') has us at 42. Of note, he has Providence 36; really doesn't like the Friars defense; Nova at 13; Xavier at 5, Creighton at 61, G Town at 49; Butler at 18; and Seton Hall at 62 - NONCON opponents Iowa at 25; ASU at 48; Vadgers at 51; and LSU at 53.
As of 12/22 (including Chicago St.):
KenPom: 84 (down from 72)
Sagarin: 73 (down from 69)
BPI (ESPN's system): 76 (down from 73)
Thank you for including Value Add. The ratings were a bit behind as we transitioned to the new Version 3.0, but when they finally were update in the past week MU was up to 73rd.
The first rating listed I believe just had the first few games so the Iowa game was still a big percentage.

First, thanks for doing this.
Why not include RPI so the lazy among us don't have to look it up to compare it to these others?
As for the massey compilation ... we somehow are being Wisconsin there. Hmmm. Reminds me of when good (but not great) Wisconsin teams kept getting top-5 Kenpom rankings.
Gotta take all these with several grains of salt, of course.

From RPIForecast.com
Current RPI: 154
Projected RPI: 122
Record Dependent RPI Projections (not including BET):
RPI 31: 25-6
RPI 42: 24-7
RPI 53: 23-8
RPI 66: 22-9
RPI 79: 21-10
RPI 93: 20-11
RPI 109: 19-12
RPI 125: 18-13
RPI 141: 17-14
RPI 157: 16-15
That's as far as I'll go...if we have a losing record, will anyone care about our RPI?

46. Marquette Golden Eagles
Freshman Henry Ellenson continues to impress, and he is a legitimate All-American candidate. Ellenson is averaging 16 points and a Big East leading 9.9 rebounds per game. Ellenson is the real deal.
