Postgame notes: Haanif Cheatham, Sandy Cohen star on defense
Madison — As Marquette assistant coach Brett Nelson worked on his scouting report of Wisconsin, it was obvious that the Golden Eagles were going to have to control juniors Nigel Hayes and Bronson Koenig if they were going to earn a win over the Badgers in Madison on Saturday. The two returning starters from last year's team that went to the national championship, Hayes and Koenig are two of Wisconsin's top scoring and entered the game with 44.3% of UW's field goal attempts.

This bodes well for us. It's nice to have defenders who can shut down the opponent's best players.

I couldn't agree more. Refreshing, actually.

I'm loving that about Cohen right now. He has adapted so well to the new rules. When thinking about our prospects, it's not just the numbers guys like Henry Ellenson, Luke Fischer, and Duane Wilson can put up, but also about the numbers guys like Josh Hart, Rodney Bullock, Trevon Blueitt, and Kellen Dunham likely won't put up against us.
