This old Warrior is looking for a bar in Milwaukee with big TV's and a decent choice of beers that will have mostly yellow-wearing, obnoxious, loud mouthed patrons on Saturday afternoon. All suggestions welcome.
Is Caffrey's still there? Go there and show the kids how to party!
Take da short ride to Madison and crash at F*ckin's crib. PM the cat for directions. He and his main event host whenever the Warriors are in his safety zone. BYO, and barf bag too, 'cuz they're cheap, ai na?
Major Goolsby's
There are only two bars left on campus, Caff's and Murphys. Well, I guess Harp and Shame too but that doesn't really count. Going downtown probably means badger territory.
Is Miss Katie gone too?

Did the Harp move? Isn't it down on the river?

Still there buy they won't be serving booze that early.

There's a Harp on the river near Trinity as well

I thought they served Bloody's/beer chaser and other stuff for breakfast. If they have they can/do sell vodka drinks with beer not sure why they wouldn't serve other alcohol.

You're right. That's just The Harp though. If people are looking to go downtown I would recommend Brady street. I like it a lot better than water. Jacks and The Garage are both solid options.

What about the Annex?!

Nomad is great for soccer, haven't been there for much else.

Prix Fixe is always worth it, and so is their happy hour.
People are getting two bars mixed up.
There's Harp & Shamrock at 21st and Wells...dingy dive bar on the periphery of campus that opens at 6 am for 3rd shift locals. Decent bloody marys.
And then there's the Harp, by the river. A (somewhat) nicer Irish pub.
Two different bars with two totally different vibes.
Now that I'm thinking of it, Conway's was right by Harp & Shamrock too. Anyone know if that's still there?

If by "(somewhat) nicer" you mean, "place where people in their mid 20s and early 30s go to forget that they haven't been in college for 5-10 years," we agree.

Think that honor goes to either Brothers or McGillycuddys.

You ever been to Miss Katie's? We used to go there after work when I was third shift at Channel 12 and they always served us at 9 am. They also serve a full bar in the morning for brunch (not just bloodies and beer). Pretty darn sure if they're open, they're serving, unless something has changed in the last month since I was there last for brunch.
EDIT: That said, Miss Katie's is definitely an older crowd when it comes to partying. When we take their shuttle, there are more discussions about who did whose hip replacement than where the hip place is to party, so I could understand any younger Scoopers not being very familiar with Old Man Pitch's place ;D
Pisch's bbq? Is that still open? One of the Pitsch girls was in my class. Nice gal.

Pitch's is still open and ran by the same family. My wife works with one of the Pitch girls (possibly the same one) and we've done some holidays with their family. Old Man Pitch has some great stories about Al. Really good family.
Still think the best Brandy Old Fashioneds in Milwaukee come from Pitch's. They're hit or miss at Miss Katie's, usually pretty poor when the young bartenders make them, but when it's the veterans, they mix them up right.

I think her name is Patti. She'd be an 83 grad. Nice gal.

Different one than my wife's friend, but we know Patti too. Had a Thanksgiving dinner with her last year and she was our DD when we went to see The Fab Four at the Pabst a few months back.
There is a big one at ugly's on 3rd.

I love uglys but that's not the place I would go to watch a game. More of a club like environment.

It's odd Harp and Shamrock is considered "on campus," but not Conway's across the street.

I always forget Conways because I don't think I've ever met a fellow student who has gone there. The only reason people go to the Harp and Shame is because they serve underagers.
At Jacks American in Brady St-
1) they will have the MU game tomorrow with sound per 2 bartenders.
2) free shuttles to all MU home BE games.
3) $4 talls of Smirinoff and Captain Morgan during all MU BE games.
Just an option for all for tomorrow.m, granted Itd not a BE game. I
On another note, I'm pretty drunk, and will be at the MU game tomorrow!

I like Points East Pub. Cool neighborhood bar, but there likely won't be volume. Karma a block away, which is a more traditional sports bar with TVs in every booth. Who's on 3rd is a way better option than Goolsby's on 3rd street. Better food and better TVs. Jackson's pub is close to campus, it's in the renevated Pabst brewhouse. Cool place. Have fun.

Actually you just did. Lived across the street for 2 years. I was not a great foos player but my roommates could play all night for 2 quarters. Its sptill there.

Then you're hanging out with the wrong crowd. Harp and Shamrock was always good for a completely different vibe than the corporatized feel Caffs and Murphs. I believe it's now owned by some recent alums who ponied up when it was at risk of going under.
