One more cupcake before the Rodents.
Lets continue to work out the kinks, reduce turnovers, and kick some a$$ tonight. Take no prisoners. >:(

Looks like it was an error. Cheatham is listed as starting now.
Now it lists Cheatham as a starter. Video board error. Disregard
Finals are next week, but I had an exam today.Cohen on fire.
Lol, Sandy.

This is a great convo with Doc... and I love that Wojo brings in these NBA teams and coaches to meet the players! Absolutely helps recruiting going forward.

Duane at point and the offense has stopped
The offense stopped with the zone defense. Poor for the last five minutes or so.
Only 2 turnovers so far
Can't do anything on offense. Traci can't pick up early fouls like this, because the offense clearly suffers without him.
Bardo said Doc back in his hometown.
Man the Fox "Game Trax" thing sucks.

No team colors, senseless layout, busy and hard to look at. Try making sense of what the shot chart is doing once you click on a player... Garbage.
Loving the Sandy Cohen show.
MU not looking good the last 5 minutes - letting SJS back in this game.
The team started getting worked when JJJ and Duane came in.
What a horrible second half of this first half - lethargic, lazy, bad decisions. Wojo is going to light into them at halftime.
The last 10 minutes were about as bad as the first 10 were good.
Could actually lose this game if they don't make some adjustments.
I think it was entirely about the defense SJSU switched to. Not personnel.
Was 35 to 12 with seven minutes to go. 23 point lead.
Now down to 9 against this team, ugh....
Just chucking up threes, bad passes and three frontend free throw misses. Duane needs to calm down or something, too fast paced and made some errors in that run.
Great start, but Wojo may go ballistic.
I've got enough to swear at right now while changing rear calipers in Mrs. C's vehicle.
Let's tur it around...NOW

Aaaaaaand...... there goes a huge lead to a bad team.
Figured we'd have a bit of a letdown after the torrid start, but this got closer than I expected.
cheezus chriminey wojo told them not to play to the scoreboard...and they still got too happy
Defensive intensity has picked up some here at least. Thinking our depth will have to start wearing them down. HE about the only one that seems to know what to do against the zone.
I think we got a little too comfortable just tossing up threes. They got a little confidence and here we are. Gotta battle now.

If I didn't just look it up, I would not have thought or known that HE has 12pts and 7 rebounds... he just does it so quietly. Don't get me wrong, it's a great thing because they are all just hooks and shots from about 10-15 feet out.

Yikes. Too many defensive lapses right now...
Ugh, those were some awful sequences
Tough to watch. I may be a jinx, every time I'm at a home game we seem to play like ass.
That foul call on Sandy when he blocked the shot just recently. Are you kidding me hahahaha
I really hope these lapses are due to the team being too focused on UW and not this game. Otherwise this saturday could be Fugly...
Yikes, it could get down to five. 24 point lead and now this.
Just get ball to Henry and Fischer and let them do their thing. Fischer with only five shots.
Two lay ups by Carter and Cohen actually went over backboard in a span of two minutes. Wow..

I suspect have back-to-back blowouts and then running out to a 24 point lead early caused a loss of focus. Tough to get it back after you've let the other team gain a little confidence. Need HE to get the ball.

Like that, for instance
The optimistic side of me (which doesn't appear too often) just jumped in to suggest that a tight game tonight is helpful for Saturday. If tonight was too easy, the guys might've been over confident going into the game against the Badgers. This way, they realize they are not as good as their recent results, and need to truly bring in on Saturday.

Very valid point
There is a badgers spy/scout sitting behind the SJSU bench... someone throw something at him.

Cheatham has driven great but has missed every layup, maybe like five of them.
Carter is 1 for 7 with 4 turnovers........
How come these SJSU players aren't getting technicals for throwing their arms up in the air after a foul every single dang time?

Well noted, Cheatham can drive at will, but when it's into a missed layup or charge, it doesn't help so much...
I think SJSU is a little better than advertised. They have some competitive players. This is a good tune up for Saturday. A good lesson for us.
This game just goes to show that this is such a young team. Players can be ridiculous one game and then completely the opposite the next game.
Fishy is having a great game on the defensive end. Completely dominating inside. Not too shabby on that dunk either.

4-4 and per the announcers, unexpectedly better than most thought they would be. That's good for, as you said, Saturday, and also good for the RPI.

Yes about Cheatham; he loves to drive, but will be better off once he realizes--like Jerel did--that pulling up is the better choice sometimes.

Interesting. Some book somewhere had it at 22, then. ESPN is pretty accurate with their game lines. Weird that one book would be so much different than the others.

I was kind of surprised by the number of SJS fans at the game, possibly due to Cody Schwartz West Depere HS

I'm not an expert but typically it's because a lot of money was being bet on Marquette, yeah. Then they raise the line to try to get some money on the other side (SJSU)

Normally that would be the case but wouldn't it be strange for someone to make such a big bet on a meaningless college basketball game. Hope the fellow or lady got the bet down while it was still at 17 1/2. Must have been heart attack time when SJ cut it to six. At the track we call these folks Bridge jumpers.

Correct. The book would ideally have equal money on each side of a point spread. You'll typically get $.90 in winnings for every $1 you bet. $1 bet on a spread will pay $1.90 in total.
So $1 on MU to cover (paying the player $1.90 in this case) and $1 on SJSU (book taking the whole $1 given the result) will net the book $.1. This is obviously done on a much biggest scale.
