Wesley Matthews scored 28 of his season-high 36 points in the second half and the Dallas Mavericks beat the Washington Wizards 116-104 Sunday night.
Matthews hit 10 3-pointers overall and eight in the second half. The Mavericks took the lead early in the third quarter and pulled away in the fourth.
Ten effen treys! Yowsa!!
Amazing for Wes.
But no one can touch Curry.
Wes has 925 3 pters in 459 games. Don't know if he will even beat Gilbert.

I am firmly in the "Curry is the greatest shooter ever" camp. I wouldn't compare Wes -- or, as you said, anybody else -- to him.
I wasn't comparing Wes to anybody. Just sayin' he's doing the Warriors proud, as always.

Glad he's coming back so well from his injury. What a warrior!

Launching 75 threes in 16 games (4.7 3PFGM average) would be virtually impossible, especially considering it took him 459 games to get 925 (2.02 3PFGM average). Even Curry's average is only 2.7 per game, I highly doubt Wes will increase it by that much. But even if he keeps up the pace he's on and it takes him around 500 games to get there, that's pretty good. I have to think he'll be able to play at least 5-6 more years, which barring injury would give him a very good shot at being one of the most prolific long-range shooters in NBA history. If he can get to 1800, he's likely to finish in the top-10 all time in threes made for a career.
Not sure how Curry got brought into the discussion, which is totally unfair to Wes cause Curry is the best basketball player on the planet right now and putting up shooting numbers that are mind boggling. But its great to see Wes coming back from injury well, living up to the contract and trust that Mark Cuban put into him doing so, and putting himself in some good company. Especially considering he isn't a volume gunner like Arenas or one of the best shooters in NBA history like Curry or Ray Allen.
