Wojo's level of frustration is quite evident. Has a message to the fans at the end of his short presser.

Thanks for posting. Also thanks mufan12. Was looking forward to both
Wojo's definitely right about the fan base being hungry
I thought that radio interview was going to be much worse based on opinions on the board. The coach is clearly disappointed with what the team is doing right now and he's not about to sugar coat it on the radio. I don't think anything he said was wrong nor should it have been kept private within the locker room.

Totally agree. He said what he felt - which was the team was horribly unacceptable in every aspect of the game. And he's right. He didn't throw any one player under the bus.
Apparently, he wants the team to get more paint touches. Feeding the post and attacking off of the dribble.

Easier said than done when the opponents packs it in and doesn't respect the 3 point shooting.

Then attack, run into someone and draw the foul.

Well, to be fair, many of Iowa's 14 steals came when we attacked and had our pocket picked. We didn't have much success when we tried that either.
Hopefully it was just one of those nights where nothing worked early and it just snowballed.
I listened to it live so I'm not sure it's on the playback links posted above, but am I remembering correctly that Wojo did the interview via phone?
Anybody else find that odd?

Not on the phone. They have a headset and mic hookup in the coach's locker room at the BC.
I liked his comment about the fans. He's right. Students and alumni have stepped up. Time for 10 scholarship players to do the same.

At least he didn't pontificate 'bout the most important stat, i.e. deflections, hey?

THank you for posting. He didn't sugar coat anything.....quite frankly, I enjoyed the answers, the ownership, etc.

35 deflections means you win 95% of the time
One of the most important stats in basketball

Taking ownership was critical. Hopefully it is more than a slogan.
I liked what he said across the board. Renews in me what might be some false hope for the rest of the season. I'll take it.
