Don't disagree, but I would rather have Jalen Brunsen (sp?) from Nova. It's a guards game.
We were never going to get him. Or Brunson.

I watched about half the game and the parts I saw him play I thought he looked good. As far as the stats keep in mind that Maryland has so much depth he doesn't start and when he is out there he is far from the primary option (much different from HE here).
GT looked really good in that game. Too bad they couldn't pull off the upset. Remember that GT just got done laying an egg in the prior home game against a bunny so maybe there is hope for MU yet :)

I didn't see the game so I don't know, but ESPN's box score lists Stone as one of the starters.
MU could have used those 5 points against Belmont.
I think Maryland is overrated. Georgetown, too.
We should have taken a hard look at the Duke transfer Rasheed Sulamon. He looked real good.

If MU was "a player away" from being a title contender then
maybe you take a chance on a talented guy with his baggage. Since they're not, it isn't worth the potential PR hit and possible headaches. It's also fair to assume that Wojo wasn't going to jump at the chance to bring in the only player who Coach K has ever dismissed.

Don't think so. Don't you think that Wojo had a solid idea who Rasheed Sulamon was on
and off the court?

Good to know your squirmy meter has a selectivity setting
Rasheed Sulamon? God no. We just went thru the Just Win Baby era and endured some not so great stuff.
As far as Stone it's hard to be frosh star on an already established team. Add in the tight game against another very good rival and you are going to sit a lot. Eventually he'll play and succeed plenty.
Everyone relax. I was largely kidding. Knee jerk reaction successful.
I hope Stone does well, and like Chicos I'd take him (or anyone with that level of talent) in a heartbeat.
The one miss I think would've helped us most this year is Damien Lee. If only Katina Powell had published her memoirs a few month earlier...

It's only squirmy if Buzz did it.
As for the thread topic, I didn't watch the whole GT-MD game, but I did catch the last 10 minutes or so. What a game! But I don't think Diamond Stone got any PT.
Only 14 minutes in the whole game.

You may be right, Lenny. On this board, we also likely have MU overrated.
Andre Drummond averaged 10 and 7 at UConn...

You're right, Willie. Until his last year, Buzz had us routinely outperforming our talent/expectations. We were spoiled - now it's back to reality.
Stone looked like a freshman going against a senior last night. He was banged off the block. He settled for short jumpers. He did alter some shots in the lane. Entertaining game last night.
Stone is a going to be a solid player. I think the hype was a bit overdone though. In High School he played with Duane and still got beat by Germantown and Luke.
That said I would take him in a heartbeat if he wanted to transfer back home.
Stone is just going to be just fine. Though it was pretty funny to see him get dominated by Bradley Hayes of all people. Stone looks like he's slimmed down a lot.

Are you talking about the Bucks and him "transferring" back home?
Or is your thinking that Hank needs 4 years and Diamond 5?

The original poster seemed to be pounding the guy because he ONLY got 5 points. From a talent perspective, I'd take him in a heartbeat. He's playing on a deep team. I don't understand why people are bagging on the guy, he's very talented.

georgie lost to radford on a 3 at the buzzer to the consensus power house radford last saturday in their home season opener

Dude you have been all over MU and Buzz for being squirmy. If you knew anything about his recruitment, and his background, you would not want him at MU.

You are correct but, to be fair, Chicos did state that he was discussing Stone from a talent perspective.

Well sure. In classic Chicos fashion he says "I'd take him in a heart beat," but then used tortured logic to imply that he meant something else.

Yea, those back to back to back regional appearances were really horrible ::)
