Does anyone know of a MU bar in Indy? I'm heading there for a wedding and need to watch the game somewhere. I'm assuming most sports bars will have access to the Fox Sports channels but it would be nice to watch it with other Warrior fans. Thanks
There aren't really any Marquette bars here in Indy, but hopefully you could find one to put it on. I think I will probably end up listening to the radio broadcast online.
My very good buddy is the president of the Indy MU Alumni chapter.
Let me see what I can find out.
Check out Broad Ripple Tavern. The bartender manager is a buddy of mine named Kurt. He's a big guy with a bigger personality. He's also a Marquette fan who would happily get the game on for you.
My favorite MU related story from him...when Stevens was at Butler, they used to have weekly coaching meetings at Broad Ripple. After the Maui game, Stevens came in for his weekly meeting and said hi to Kurt behind the bar. Kurt turned around to reveal his Wade Marquette jersey and yelled at the top of his lungs "I'M VERY, VERY MAD AT YOU!!!" Stevens laughed and apologized for the game.
Anyway, it's a nice bar, if you make it out, tell Kurt that Alan sent you.
What part of town?
I'm staying at the JW Marriott downtown so I was hoping to find a spot around there.
Good to know about the broad ripple bar though.
I watched the infamous MU @ West Virginia game at the bar in the JW in Indy (2012 it must have been). Had a great time. Met another MU fan and got properly drunk. I'd recommend it.
My buddy says it's going to be hard because Indiana is playing tonight as well. He suggested the sports bar at the Marriott. It's about a block away from the JW Marriott. More TVs and cheaper booze.
That's where I'll be then. Thank you
I'll be actively rooting against IU as well. Crean sucks
