Small crowd. Granted it was an exhibition game, but I sensed some excitement about this team and expected a bigger turnout.
New student seating - three rows of folding chairs courtside at the north baseline.
They had a big confetti/streamer explosion as the players ran out of the tunnel - but some of the streamers got wrapped around players and wound up on the court - need to rethink this.
Unusual MU warm-up outfits - cropped pants and those yellow vests - yikes!
Mike J. announcing the wrong starting line up - Haanif instead of Luke - everyone seemed confused.
Mike J. mispronouncing(?) Sacar's last name - I thought it was "A-NEEM" but he kept saying "AN-IM"
Great to see Jae Crowder and some Celtic teammates in the house.
Stopped by the new Sobelman's - northeast corner of the upper level - two burger choices and a couple of sides.
I think that is the correct way to pronounce his name.
Based on the announced paid attendance and a big contingent from Rice Lake, I would say season tickets are down another 800-900 this season.
Other than maybe the first ten rows, most students sat in the side section. I think the view is less obstructed there now that they added those three extra rows of chairs. Or less supervised. I never really saw that section fill in first but I have noticed it is more popular the last couple of years.
New press area up in the stands was 40% full at most. Glad they moved them up.
Lower bowel was very empty except the Milwaukee Mafia behind MU bench. The new alumni section seemed pretty well populated. Free beer is good.
For an exhibition game at 7pm on a Monday, the crowd was as expected but lighter versus other exhibition openers.
Wife Beater warm ups are horrid. The "We are Marquette"' player chant video was not lively and was way too long as the crowd's attention went elsewhere.
Special effects were excellent as was Titans. Timemout promos appeared to be similar. Grabbed a couple new team posters. Large drafts now $8.50.
Oh, and I should have added 540 ESPN having "technical issues" during the interview with Wojo after the game. This seems to happen way too frequently.

Great point. I forgot about that (or tried to block it from my memory). It was so long and awkward.

yeah - the craft beers in the southeast-upstairs bar/lounge area went up 1.50 a pop from last year - that is unbelievable - just raise it a quarter every year so people don't notice - i mean when you're already selling a product that you bought for a dollar for 6.50 and then jack it up another 1.50 it feels dirty. God knows the person selling it to you is not making any more and many of the folks there are volunteers for non-profits. Oh well - i guess they/re just getting us acclimated for the prices at the new stadium.
Any Trump, Carson, Rubio, Cruz, et al sightin's, hey?
I blame the Fan Advisory Committee

They charge $8.50 for a beer because people will pay $8.50 for a beer.

Reports are coming out that Ben Carson will soon be dropping out in order to serve "a greater good" by becoming Neurosurgeon to MUScoop.

Exactly. They could bump that up to $10.

As a dentist, I'm sure that you're familiar with the concept of implants.

Yeah obviously - once you're inside to watch you're at their whims- doesn't mean they have to or that it's always good business to do so

Yep... if you don't like it, don't pay it. If enough people balk, you'd probably be surprised at how fast prices would drop.

Yes, and it helps the economy--higher profits = more tax dollars; more alcohol taxes so the government double dips; more craft brewers get skin in the game which is always a good thing; more beer vendor guys can be hired; more beer delivery guys get hired; keeps up Milwaukee's rep as beer city; and most importantly, paves the way for $10 beers when the new arena opens. It is all good.
Probably would be a good thing for me if the beer went to $10+. I'll be more likely to pay $7 for a smoothie at the refugee stand instead of having just one more beer and then one more beer and end up buying five throughout the game.
The MU player video I heard was looped wrong. Should have not been that long.
The starting line-up, I can't blame Mike J. on that, as the scoreboard had it that way too with HC as a starter.
I guess it was pre-season for everyone.
Do not like what was done inside of Blue/Gold room on west side, removing great MU and Bucks murals from the past. How much better does it get than Lew Alcindor and the O waiting to get onto the court in the one mural that was there?? Granted not everyone gets to see.

I don't know about the dentist part but Doc certainly knows about implants from a lifetime of lap dances...
