Dam guys I'm not that young of a man anymore but I really like
our jersey's. I'm not sure which color I like best but I think they
are all sharp.
That being said it doesn't matter what older farts like I think, but
it sure does matter what 17, 18 and 19 year olds think. I have a
20 year old son who use to bring home sometimes 15 + friends to
watch games and they talked all the time about uni's and shoes.
Know i'm not saying that this in itself will bring in recruits but it
sure is a eye catcher to these kids and might allow us to get a
foot in the door where other wise not.
I agree - the new uniforms are fantastic. The road blues look best, in my opinion. I'm looking forward to the unveiling of the powder blues.
where does everyone think we will unveil the '77blue unis?? my guess would be notre dame, if not then maybe big monday against loserville
Road blues are awesome, as are the gold and whites. Not crazy about the lettering for "MARQUETTE", but everything else is great. I'm probably in the minority when I say that my feeble mind cannot imagine that the powder blue unis will look good.
I thought they would get unveiled for the first Big East game (Providence on Jan. 3) but saving them for Notre Dame about a week and a half later would make sense.
I'd say potentially WVU. First BE road game and against a team coached by longtime rival. That's just me though.
That's a good point. Are the baby blues going to be exclusively a road jersey like the regular blue or will it be used home and road as the gold's used to?
Maybe gold and white at home and the two blues on the road?
Speaking of uniforms, can anyone tell me why all teams are not required to have the players' names on the back?
I've heard all this crap about no "i" in team, but all lthe pros do it, and when you only see a team once or twice a year it would make it a lot easier to follow the analysis that you read.
For NCAA there is no rule the name has to be on the back although 95% of teams do have them. The 2 exceptions that come right to mind are UW and Indiana, think UW is the no i in team and IU was that way with Knight and now they consider it their tradition.
Have to disagree about the baby blues, think those will be great simailar to the 74 season.
Baby blues should be sweet. Also a big fan of the white.
In past years, I liked yellow best, but it doesn't look as good with the new design.
Agree to disagree. In years past I always like the gold the least with white being my favorite.
Now I have to give gold the nod with white a close second.
I'm glad we played UW this weekend and our only disagreement is over uniform color. Pretty cool.

UWM doesn't have names on the back either, but that makes sense as you'd figure they'd wish to remain as anonymous as possible.
Guess I don't see UWM much on ESPN highlights so it never crossed my mind.
following up on the IU tradition, I'm pretty sure Iowa used to have their names, then Alford thought they were being too selfish so the next season they did away with the names. I'm not sure, but I think they might have the names back

Actually Mike Davis frequently talked about adding the names -- eventually. This was yet another thing that turned the old school IU faithful against him. He painted himself into a corner -- he wanted to give the players what they wanted and failed to defend the tradition of no names.
I preferred how Bob Knight always handled the question by saying "We have our name on the front of our jerseys."
having a name on the uniform has not effect on how one plays as a team player, it is all about individual attitude and chemistry and most of all coaching.

Iowa does have the names again but it's tweaked a bit. They had already ordered the jerseys with no names so the numbers were so high a name wouldn't fit. They had to get tiny letters to fill the small space that was left.
Unveiling the powder blue on the road would be a mistake. And I can't think of a legit reason why it would be WVU. They should be used in the BC only and I think on National TV only.
Save them for a home game and have another blue-out. If it is on national TV it will look/be sweet.
