Title: Famous Valley City State Alumni
Post by: barfolomew on November 06, 2015, 01:03:05 PM
We're scraping the bottom of the barrel for this one.
This institution seems to have much fewer prestigious alumni than the more famous City States like Athens and Sparta.

Their coach is a legend in Central Wisconsin for his massive success at MSTC in his first head coaching role:

Prior to his time at UW-Superior, Kaminsky spent seven seasons as the Head Coach of Mid State Technical College in Wisconsin Rapids. While there, he guided the Cougars to a 153-70 record, and three consecutive Wisconsin Junior College State Championships. From the 1990-91 season to the 1993-94 season, MSTC had a record of 109-31 and three WTCC Conference Championships. Kaminsky's emphasis on defense and team play established Mid State as a contender on the state and national levels of junior college basketball.

Because most coaches are from the Individualistic Offense school of basketball philosophy.

And wasn't Westhead at Loyola Marymount the last coach to not emphasize defense?
