Flipping houses.    Who knew?

Sounds like my roommate and his girlfriend my sophomore year. Always watching HGTV.

Patterns his game after Carmelo Anthony.   I hope he is more of a team player than Carmelo.

Indeed. I hereby grant Hankster permission to leave after one season if his one season matches Melo's in every way!

He would make a fortune.

The money he would save on ladder rental alone....

My thought as well. Not an ideal role model.

Someone could do worse than winning an NCAA Title and making multi millions in a 10-15 year span of their his life.

When's my multi billions gonna come thru?

Just because you failed to meet your goals doesn't mean that Bill Gates is to blame.

And yes, I'm serious.  There are far worse role models out there than a guy who gets paid millions of dollars to play a child's game.  A guy who is the top 0.0000001% of the world's population at his job.  That's a pretty damn successful role model.  Seems like someone else here is spewing garbage if he believes otherwise.

If you remember Melo was a great team player in college. That's why they were able to win. Changed when he got the NBA because he had no one around him in Denver and now he stuck in bad habits.

Do you know how many kids "patterned their games" after Michael Jordan? Do you know how many kids actually became Michael Jordan? Only one...

So Greg Hardy is a role model?

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

Like you can't be serious

DUH and that's my point.

A role model is someone you can look up to for how they go about their business and how they play the game.

Do you want someone pattering their game off MJ? A winner and team player?

Or Melo a guy who doesn't play defense and chuck up shots?

Saying a guy is a role model because he makes money is basically psychotic.

Great. I look up to mobster. Love how reach those classy guys are.

Did I miss something?  Are we talking about Greg Hardy as a role model?  I was thinking we were still talking about Hank modeling his game after Carmelo.  Like, are we, like, serious right now?

You are the one who is bringing up "role models."  Hank said he modeled his game (not his life, not that he looks up to Carmelo, just models his game) after Carmelo.  If you'd have a problem with Hank leading us to a National Title this year and going on to have a HOF NBA career then more power to you.  Personally I think it looks absurd, but to each their own.

And you are also the one comparing Carmelo to Greg Hardy and to mobsters.  Carmelo is neither of those things.  But keep reaching.

If someone aspires to be a mobster then he'll look at other successful mobsters.  If someone aspires to be a wife beater then he'll look to Greg Hardy.  If someone aspires to be a superstar basketball player then there's nothing wrong with looking at Carmelo Anthony.  He was a 1 and done, won an NCAA Title, will be in the NBA Hall of Fame, and makes a lot of money.  You think he should look at Matthew Delevdova because the guy works hard, is a team player, plays defense, etc.  That's all cute and good, but Hank would be selling himself way, way short if he looked at that type of player to model his game after.

Honestly it's probably just a product of your personality disorder in needing to start conflict.

But go back and read my initial post you quoted.

Why can't he look at MJ or Lebron James?

Now you bring up Dellevedova.

You came looking for something and reached. It's what you do.

And you look idiotic every time.

Learn to read.

Making money doesn't make "someone's game a perfect model".

Pretty sure Henry has the ambitions to be on a good winning NBA team. Does he not?

...right. Henry said he models is game after Carmelo. You then went and replied that he could find a better role model. Two completely different things.

Talk about learning to read. Book. Moron.

PS I like that you separate each sentence into its own paragraph. Learn to write as well. Boom. Moron.

So what you're saying is that there should only be 1 or 2 people in the history of the world that people try to learn from in any given career? Again, you are entitled to your own opinion, but when you have an opinion that looking at someone who is in the top 0.000000001% of the world's population to ever walk this earth is somehow a bad thing to do you probably shouldn't be going around calling other people idiots and saying they're looking for conflict and look stupid for it. If you want to be a star basketball player there's nothing at all wrong with looking at someone who is going to be in the NBA HOF. You stupidly said there was and you were called out for it. Sorry it bothers you.

And yup, I brought up Delly because he fits your parameters of a "good role model for Henry" (thank God Henry's not turning to you for his advice). Not someone who chucks, someone who plays hard and plays good defense, etc. Greg Hardy and mobsters do not fit those parameters or the parameters Henry is actually looking at (very, very successful basketball players). So once again, your argument doesn't make any sense at all.

Once again, you say, "Learn to read" (in its own paragraph) and then your next 1 sentence paragraph is about making a perfect role model (which Henry never said he was looking to Carmelo for, just that he's modeling his game after Carmelo's) because he makes money. Someday you'll learn to reason beyond what the literal written word says. Until then I'll help you out.

Why does Carmelo make a lot of money? Because he's one of the top 50 players in the world at playing basketball. Out of 7 billion people in the world, Carmelo is one of the 50 best at what Henry is looking to do. Assuming your math skills are as bad as your reading and logic skills (and psychological knowledge..."the need to start conflict" is a now personality disorder? Good stuff! Dr. HaywardsHeros, everyone!), I'll do the math for you. That puts Carmelo in the top 0.000000007142857% of the world's population at doing what Henry is looking to tailor his game around. Again, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. It's the beauty of being a human. The problem is when you get a person running around calling other people "morons" and "idiots" when they first look at something totally different than what someone said (despite your lack of knowledge of the English language, modeling someone's game after a person is far different than looking to someone as a role model) and then come up with insane opinions like looking at someone who is in the top 0.000000007142857% of the world's population at what they're looking to do is a really bad thing.

Keep it rolling, Dr.

Carmello Anthony is a bit of a ball stop and is on the downside of a fabulous career, but he is a natural scorer.  I would be happy if Henry models his game after him.

Not wanting to do an official "Ners" poll, I see it as Wades victory.

Current score: 1-0 in a late round knock out.  congrats to both fighters for the effort.

Basis for vote:
- Heroes docked points for consistently leading with low blows (i.e. personal insults)
- Wades stuck with his fight profile better and was more consistent in his argument
- Heroes lost his composure allowing Wades to take the higher ground
- this referee believes Wades POV was much more defensible
