Jae Crowder: 31 min, 6 Reb, 3 Ast, 2 Stl, 14 points

JFB: 34 min, 4 Reb, 6 Ast, 2 St, 24 points

Wes Matthews: 26 min, 3 Reb, 1 Ast, 1 Stl, 9 points

D-Wade: 29 min, 3 Reb, 5 Ast, 20 points

Novak: DNP

Side Note: Kaminsky and Sam with a combined 7 minutes for 0 points

The Kaminsky Stat line makes me happy. I think I actually would have liked Dekker if he didn't go to Madison.

His play late last year/playoffs and his contract shoulda been a good indication as is...but I think last night showed Jae is definitely gonna be a key piece for the Celts this year. 31 minutes and he didn't do anything to suggest that should drop!!!

Jimmy was jimmy. Ball left his hand in the form of a shot attempt and didn't go in twice all game. Nice.

Wes is working back. Great just to have him out there.

Wade was Wade. Pretty efficient and played all around. Interested to see how this heat team performs if they stay healthy in the east.

Going with Mrs. C next week to see DWade against the Woofies.

Im amazed those rookies didn't make more of an impact in their first ever NBA game.   ::)

You mean like the guy the Hornets passed up on and rejected 4 first round picks to draft one of those 2 with?

Oh yeah...

I'm sure he did some funny dances during warm ups.

Stuff like that doesn't make the stat sheet

Yeah, your'e right.  They should probably just retire.  Their careers are over.

Dekker is going to have to become a much better shooter to have a good NBA career. I just honestly don't seeing Frank being a good NBA player. I know it's one game and I could end up completely wrong but I just don't see it.

Part of me is torn about Frank and Sam - if they succeed it will help eliminate the "Bo gets guys who aren't very good to play at an elite level" narrative vs. they are Badgers and I wish them failure (see Gordon, Melvin).

That narrative ended after they were both drafted in the first round.

Dekker reminds me of James Posey. He's a good teammate and solid role player with some all-around game and can shoot 3s at a respectable clip. He's a nice guy to have on your team but overall, just a guy.

Kaminsky could have a long NBA career as a back-up big man. The next Matt Bonner.

One other thing...Justise Winslow will be the best player from this draft class and someday we'll look back and wonder how Kaminsky was drafted before him.

Dekker has his work cut out for him to become a respectable outside shooter. He got hot in the tourney, but was a career 35% 3PT shooter from the college arc.

bo didn't have much ncaa tourney success until he had 2 lottery pick talent players on his team...but the narrative of bo having success with very average talent is alive and well in my mind.  the consistency that he's been able to have in madison with very average talent is amazing, and when he had the talent the last two years, he delivered with ncaa success.  i think bo is exactly what a lot of people thought he was/is...i just don't think many thought he'd ever be able to recruit that kind of talent to his team because of the style of basketball they play.  he found a sleeper in frank, and a home town talent in dekker, and the rest is history.

now it's time to sit back and watch the egos of bo and barry collide.  what could be more fun than that.

Yup.  He's the perfect player to step in for Wade, and he gets to learn behind Wade for a couple years.

I thought he played SOLID D on King James last night when he had him one on one.

JFB averaged 8 min and 2 points his entire first season.
Just signed a max deal.

So you're expecting Sam and Frank to turn into Jimmy and be max level players?

Sure looks like Wade is definitely washed up as stated by some here a few years ago....he's done nothing the last few years....nothing.

I believe the point was you can't judge by 1 season, let alone 1 game.  No, I don't expect either to sign max deals.  I am the captain of Jimmy's fan club, and I never expected him to get a max deal either, not until last season anyways.

But anyways, its good that Wes looks like he has bounced back.

I don't think anybody judged anybody at all after 1 game or 1 season. Someone pointed out that those 2 combined to not score in their NBA debuts. Nobody said anything about their future in the NBA before people got defensive about pointing out a simple fact.

Don't be disingenuous.  You know what you implied.

What I implied? I didn't imply anything. Someone replied that it's not surprising 2 rookies did nothing in their first game of their careers and I pointed to a rookie that one of them was picked in place of 4 first round picks doing something.

I think if Dekker gets into the right situation he could have a pretty good career as a pro, but I don't think Houston is the right place (at least not right now). I think Frank will be a guy who can have a 10+ year career off the bench.

I said absolutely nothing about their futures in my post.
