Title: Super Moon/Eclipse
Post by: naginiF on September 27, 2015, 09:48:36 PM
Anyone else have an unobstructed viewing of the 'blood moon'?  Coolest celestial event i've seen....maybe ever.  But we're in a pretty high light pollution area so i'm interested in any rural thoughts.

The big "can you imagine" conversation on our street was 'if you lived 2,000 years ago can you imagine what you'd think if the moon slowly turned red?'.  General consensus is that there would be mass sacrifices in KC.

If i the time, and more importantly, the technical ability to upload some pics tomorrow i will.

We're close to Lake Michigan .. it didn't appear red so much .. just a dark shadow across the moon.

.. It was ok.

-- A month ago we were outside when the ISS flew directly over Milwaukee for a few minutes.  I thought that was cooler, knowing there were people in that tiny dot.

I thought it was very cool.  Definitely got red as the eclipse became more full.

Did anybody else in the Tosa area notice a plane fly over really low probably around 9:30?

It was a perfectly clear night here in SE MN, and it had a definite red/orange hue.  Absolutely amazing sight.

Agree.  Perfect clear, comfortable night.  Wife and I enjoyed from the deck.

Legion has it that if you make bacon while watchin' a lunar eclipse, you'll have 20 years of financial prosperity, hey?

the clouds peeled back just in time-turned up the pink floyd and told my kids they weren't even a twinkle in the eye last time this happened

Well then my neighbors horrors are our fiscal benefits.  Nice!

Ma naginiF was on the Cape (Eastham) and reported great viewing (thankfully said nothing of mak'in bakon)
