QuoteAs we look forward to another exciting season of Marquette basketball, we would like to let you know of a new opportunity to engage with the Marquette basketball program. On Friday, Oct. 9, Marquette Athletics will host Marquette Madness. In addition, the Blue & Gold Fund will host a Block Party prior to Marquette Madness. This FREE event, which is replacing the annual Blue & Gold Fund Fish Fry and Haunted Hoops, includes pay-as-you-go tailgate food, autographs and opportunities to mingle with players, coaches and staff. You'll also hear from Vice President and Director of Athletics Bill Scholl and women's and men's basketball head coaches Carolyn Kieger and Steve Wojciechowski.
Below are all of the details for the Blue & Gold Fund Block Party.
Go Marquette!
Sincerely,
Joe True
Associate Athletic Director – Development
And the end of Haunted Hoops and The Fish Fry as we knew it. Discuss
Nice!
If they're not selling beer, I'll be selling loose cans from the trunk of my car. Keep an eye out for me.
I look very similar to the handsome version of Bill Murray

It's a free block party where you can interact with some of the basketball program members. If it sucks it's free. If it's anything better than that then great.
I presume that the Fish Fry/Haunted Hoops is a victim (at least for this year) of the scrimmage with Stanford.
Wait. Basketball can be discussed here?
Too bad. Haunted Hoops was great for the little ones - much more accessible than Madness. And prior to last year the players would stay and sign autographs for all the kids. My children looked forward to it every year.
They are having a remote broadcast so not everyone will go to the Al???

It is about the deep fried fish, people! Perch or Cod on a Stick?
Scoop needs clarity at times.

Thanks. I'm feeling quite a bit better about my family not having a saying.
We have a saying in my house "Done Deal"
Usually said when exiting the bathroom.

It would appear that they've decided on a capacity number for Madness and once they're out of wristbands, sucks to be you.
Many students just show up to get a t-shirt and poster and leave right away. I hope they don't take a wristband.

Never understood why Tshirts were handed out at the start of the deal.

Some years they have actually put the Tshirts on the seats in the Al, and only had 2 sizes - M and XL.
Not the ideal situation for me and my fellow size Ss.

So maybe it is the right size?

Registration is now open. Cash bar. Party after. In all seriousness, I think it is cool they are trying something different. Hopefully, no Scooper pulls the fire alarm.

My nephew is doing his campus tour that day. Hopefully he can get into the Al for MM.

He should tell his tour guide that he wants to go. I am sure he/she will get him over to the block party in time.
So, if you go to the block party, do you get a wristband for MM?

Thanks Chick. Read the info on the link. Confused by why they say you can line up starting at 3 at the Al when you can get a wristband at the block party. Must be about being first through the door.
