I saw a tweet last week that the Big East schedule should be released this week. I'm really hoping for Saturday home games vs Georgetown and Villanofun, as well as Saturday road games at Butler and at Xavier.
Looking forward to dissecting the schedule and making my winter travel plans. Road games have become a tradition for my buddies and me.

This is a great conference because you're bound to get something from this selection every year:
Weekend in NYC (2 chances)
Weekend in DC
Weekend in Boston (Or P-town I guess)
Hinkle Fieldhouse

Omaha can be fun bc there are so many alums and Cinci affords one the opportunity to try inferior chili.

Sho nuff. Like the link suggests, when in doubt just take out the additional noun (i.e. "my buddies") and see if it sounds right. It doesn't sound right to say "Road games have become a tradition for I."

Just another day at MUScoop.
If I remember what Matt said a few weeks ago, it appears that Marquette will open at home in Big East play on 1/2. We have played at DePaul and at Creighton the last two years (both losses). Hopefully, we can establish a turnaround by winning our first game (perhaps against St. Johns or Seton Hall).

Not to mention, where was this thread going anyways?

Too many admirals saturday night games. I'm pretty sure MU would make the BC more money than the admirals.
Well once the new arena is built, the Admirals are going to the UWM Panther Arena anyway.

As painful as this may be to hear, they are officially the #2 tenant and get priority over MU. Might be the rent check paid or the number of dates. Not sure.

How do you know that? I've never heard who is #2.
Admirals pay $90,000 per year in rent and MU pays $25,000 per game, which comes out to $500,000 for this season.

Drive to 35th and Center in Milwaukee and let me know if you come back. Philly definitely has some bad parts and generally the people as a whole are the south end of a north bound horse(this is topic dependent) but it's a pretty cool town. Lots of history, good food, and pretty easy to navigate.

Having lived there a couple years, this is pretty accurate. Not the worst place to spend a weekend, but if you get 10 trips to take to Philadelphia or New York, 0 or 1 are the only acceptable times to choose Philly.
I grew up in DC but live in Philly now and it really is a great city. Lots of fun drinking events, nice parks, tons of great restaurants. Center City is really nice. Sure North, West, and South Philly have bad parts, but so do every city.
I personally do not like NYC and would take Philly over it every time.
Marquette Men's Basketball twitter just said to stay tuned because the schedule is going to be released TODAY!!!
This thread reminded me of something.
Last week, I received a voicemail from Seton Hall athletics inquiring as a past "ticket buyer of Seton Hall basketball games" if I'd be interested in purchasing season tickets as they had a great slate of Big East games.
Of course the only Seton Hall tickets I purchased were for Marquette @ Seton Hall games. My Seton Hall friend and his wife were perplexed as to how come they never received the same call?

I'd classify special events differently. The Bulls and Blackhawks get kicked out of the UC for the Circus Trips every year, but I hardly think anyone would consider Barnum and Bailey to be a primary tenant over them.

I think this is good. By 2-27 I expect us to be good enough to beat Villanova at our place, so I could see us going 1-1. Flip the home and away game and I see us going 0-2.

I'd like to play Villanova 4 times this year. And I'd be okay with 1-3 as long as we won the last one.

Well if you head east you'd go into the river and if you went west you'd go into the other river before hitting the bad part of town. The point is the main part of the city is really nice and lots of fun.

Good news for those of you frightened of a trip to Philly: the game is not in Philly, it is on campus, which is in a neighborhood more akin to the North Shore of the Chicago area than to Englewood.
I'm not sure to be glad because it may be a cool environment for the game or disappointed that they don't think MU is a big enough draw for downtown. I can tell you that there is not a bad seat in the house.
Either way, looking forward to a nice visit with Ms. Legs Jr. (also a little disappointing that it is right after xmas break, but the BE didn't consult me (again) before making the schedule)

Actually, that's true just about anywhere. I grew up in the suburbs, right around Hartland. But while we never worried about crime (parents never locked the doors) if you blindfolded yourself and walked in a random direction at my house, there was a 75% chance you'd end up walking into a lake, a swamp, or traffic.

There actually is an "east side" other than the lake -the neighborhood known as East Side is at around 106th and the lake. It will be interesting to see how it changes as the new development goes in over the next 20 years on the former US Steel Southworks site just north of it.
