It's really no big deal. He just apologized. Of course, only after people found the video. And, of course, the NFL didn't do much about it either.
This morning, Golic made a good point about this. He suggested that perhaps two guys who have made bad decisions but still made it into the HOF might not be the best people to deliver the "actions have consequences" speech. Sapp illustrated this pretty well when he said that failing his drug test turned into a "two hour and forty-five minute nightmare." Wow. It must have been horrible. I can think of a number of guys who would be better for this talk. I wonder if Lawrence Phillips could get a weekend pass. Having a couple of HOF'ers up there just seems to kind of undermine the message that they were (supposedly) trying to pass on.
Put those 2 jokers on a church pulpit with Bumstead and the 3 stooges could deliver quite the inspirational sermon, ai na?

Another misstep in the NFL's terrible PR campaign. A year after many players in the news for negative reasons (Ray Rice, domestic violence in general, Aaron Hernandez, etc.), they have a video on their own website, where a hall of famer is telling rookies to have a fall guy.
Reminds me of when they started fining players for the helmet to helmet hits or hitting too hard in general and they were still selling on their store highlights of massive hits, many of which, were now illegal and finable.

The NFL is so flippin' successful from a $$ point of view, that I don't think it takes a long-term point of view at all with its PR. Everything is short-term and crisis related.
This is what organizations look like when they think they are untouchable.
