I was able to get a couple tickets to the Kohl Center Saturday.
Hoping to do a little pre-game drinking with a MU friendly crowd.
Where is everybody going?
I was thinking maybe state street brats or the nitty gritty, but I need to find a place with some food too.

We should set up a tailgate and drink heavily. Can you drink in the lots there?
Im not going, but if I was, I would stay away from State St... thats where you get the UWAlums out in full force. Just me though, still won't forget the classic lashing I took from a UWAlum last year, who was the same lady who thought the Marquette players were out of bounds, and she couldn't believe the refs won't call it.
She called Wes a traitor, but Landry was fine for leaving Milwaukee.
i think im goin to that nitty gritty joint w my old man and my buddy
A word to the wise, you better get to the gritty at least an hour before tip off if you want to eat a complete meal and still make it in time for tip-off (if you're just boozing, ignore the previous statement). It's the closest bar (aside from Buck's) to the KC, and always ridiculously packed before games. The Echo Tap on Bedford will give you faster service and the people there will probably be better behaved than the drunks at the Gritty.
Any good bars that are MU friendly or at least MU tolerant?? I'm guessing not but I'm still at the age where it is acceptable to be punched by a badger (unlike our favorite alum Jamie Warner and Chet incident). I recall two years ago I feared for my life on state street...given I was wearing yellow and yelling at anyone in red...
...wouldn't mind having a few prior at a bar packed with MU fans!!!

As a former resident of Madison, I would say not really. The best thing to do would be to coordinate with anyone going and pick a bar and stick with that choice, come hell or high water.
Dotty Dumpling's Dowry on Frances is just a couple of blocks away and has a less pro badger bent than the Gritty or Brats would. They also have pretty good burgers if you need to grab a bite to eat. It's also directly across the street from one of the main parking ramps.
