Absolutely love the nickname and I'm not even sure why and I keep saying with a heavy german accent for some reason.
It's even better because 15 years from now when Traci is getting his number or jersey, or whatever retired the 1000 people who watched on youtube will be the only ones to know the origin.
Someone get Homer on the line and make sure he's on board.
The Engine!
I am 100% on board.
Absolutely. No question. He's The Engine.
Also, let me know when one of you Photoshop guru's comes up with the MU Golden Bears logo on a shirt... put me down for at least 3
Edit: Found our mascot...

I think Nick N. and Marquette are both better for him having moved away from Wisconsin.

She looks positively Icelandic.
And, yes, the Engine.

Noskowiak staying back
ISU leaves Monday for a four-game, 10-day trip to Spain, but freshman point guard Nick Noskowiak will not be making the trip with the team.
"Nick won't be with us on the trip," ISU coach Steve Prohm said.
"He's got to deal with a family situation."
Prohm also said that Noskowiak remains on the team.
Without Noskowiak, ISU will have just six scholarship players available to play in Spain.

Wow. Maybe not. Another setback. Have to just hope that things turn around for him sooner than later.

I still can't get over how great that announcer was.

Broeker kept talking over him. We need to get that guys some Red Bull for the next game. Broeker was a very interesting listen, but he needs to bring some energy!

Thomas was a maestro leading the LSO. Broeker was the guy on his cell phone during Beethoven's 9th...
If Marquette had any sense they would cancel Homer's contract and ink Thomas to a long term deal.
Twitter and Facebook for Thomas, with some pictures of the trip

I'd get a shirt with that on front....
Let's give it couple of months to see if it sticks.
I was able to catch about 2/3 of the game, but I missed him being called Engine. If he does get his jersey/number retired, I will tell people I was there with the Engine from the beginning though.

Can we get all the American announcers to start calling three-point plays "triples"?

Pretty common as is.

It was better listening to the game with just one side of the headphones on.

Broeker kept breathing into the headphones. It was horrible.

Maybe he was on his cell phone calling homes where teenaged girls were babysitting...

Not to be all defensive for Broeker, but it's not like he's a trained broadcast professional.

His performance made me appreciate the craft so much more -- however it made me a little angrier at Len Elmore - he has practiced for years...
I agree with 03. Broeker will listen to the tape and realize that he talked over Thomas too much. But he did provide valuable insight and frankly did better than most of us would.

Haha alright alright alright. We're back on track!
Thinking about this a bit more. I'll want to watch Traci with great interest over these next 3 games and early in the non-con schedule. If he can be only an 'average' BEast PG this year our team upside improves pretty dramatically. We're going to be NCAA worthy at both the #4 and #5 and it sure looks as if Duane is ready to take the next step in his development. If Traci can give us 25 quality minutes every night (and remember that none of us have seen Haanif for a minute yet), we could be pretty damn good.
Jimmy Mac gave the idea a favorite. Homer is going to need some convincing.
