Duane, Period.
Gotta be Duane. Though Traci and Henry with fantastic debuts.
First half Traci, 2nd half and game by far Duane.
Duane.
But Traci impressed me as well. Looks like he has what it takes to be a leader for the next several years
For a little more color. Traci played an outstanding game for a Frosh. Very comfortable that we're in good hands at the PG. Luke has also elevated his game. Our defense left a lot to be desired, especially in the first half and rebounding on the defensive end is still a problem, at least for the moment.
Totally forgot there was a game today! Wow.
What were some stat lines?
Duane was great? And Traci looked good?

No idea of exact stats, but I'm sure they'll be out soon. Duane had to put up 30. He had 13 in the first half and was better in the second. Traci was impressive. Can pass, drive, keeps his head up, solid defensive plays, and I believe made three shots from deep. And he looks absolutely fearless. He belongs. Henry was impressive. Quiet at times, but I'm guessing put up a solid double-double (I'd guess around 18/10 or so).
I'll agree with Duane as SoG. He showed himself as the leader, and stepped up with those big threes.
Henry must've had a double-double, huh?
Missed the first half, apparently I need to get back and watch the archived version when it's out to see The Engine and how he did.
For those who were able to watch, how did JJJ play?

Non-existent but did have an improved looking shot.

Not very much and not very well when he was in.
They need to dump Homer and hire that Thomas guy!
Thomas was the Stud of the Game!

Form on his shot looked a lot better; results not so much.
I'm gonna go with Henry he somehow played a bit under the radar compared to Duane and Traci but still put up 25pts and 10 boards. He probably had 3-4 assists too. Hell of a start for a freshman. Gonna be fun to watch!
Henry needs to work on his defensive footwork. But it's terrifying for opponents when he boards and then runs the break.

Thanks. I read through the whole chat so it definitely sounds like those 3 and Luke stood out.
With FT shooting being poor. Hope that improves.
Henry's 24 and 10 in his first "college" start gets the vote from me.
That was a ridiculously quiet 24 and 10

Henry needs to work on his defensive footwork.
Defense was shaky, but his impact offensively far out weighs his defensive shortcomings. He is athletic enough that I'm sure his defense will get there
Like our new mascot, Marquette Bears.

True! The SotG for the Marquette Golden Bears was definitely Duane. Although Hank was pretty great out there for his first college game.

Agree with you 100 percent. How refreshing to have a commentator string together coherent thoughts, have a total grasp of the history of the two teams, and clearly explain the differences between international and US basketball rules. I also think "Golden Bears" is a better than Eagles, golden, or otherwise.
Easily Duane. The score, steal, and 1 in the first half and the block and 3p in the second half were turning points

Haven't heard that from anyone on this board since Junior was graduated.
Time to refresh the box and add SwaggyDu.
Duane. He won the game for us.
Duane, with HE close second

No doubt he'll need plenty of work in the half court set but on a break he's a joy to watch. Head up, great timing with the pass. Kid can flat out ball. And his shot is definitely 'good enough' for right now to warrant attention.
I gotta go with the team managers working like so many Scrubbing Dutch Boys, preventing several 4 to 6 week injuries to the team.
If they don't qualify, then Duane who completely took over the game on both ends when it was "winning time" in the middle of the fourth quarter after being very good over the game up to that point.

Please. The life of a Marquette Manager improved immeasurably the second Bert left...
