1) they aren't on probation any more
2) "does white kids play so hard, eh"
3) THEY ARE EVIL AND MUST BE DESTROYED
My girlfriend goes there so they arent a complete waste of space... thats nice coming from me :)
Halloween parties were pretty good, from what I can remember.
2nd best party school in Wisconsin
Beautiful campus. I am told I enjoyed the Halloween party.
Best Agriculture Journalism major in the state!

Soulja Bo(y)!
For a state that struggles with cuties, their co-eds are pretty good looking.
They are in Wisconsin, a nice state.....
They help control the parrot population.
State Street
great campus
cool town
mostly open minded folk
neat location at the lake
bb team always plays hard and is prepared, regardless of what you think about them
good pbs station :)
nothing against UW except whooping them would be a great pleasure.
Cool campus, most of the alumns I know from there are pretty cool. Probably my favorite Big 10 school. It's a fun rivalry. Not a lot of venom for those of us from out of state.
They honor Ronald McDonald like no other school in history

Wha'd Ya Know? on NPR broadcasts from there. (Awesome radio show.)
They're the best public school in the state of Wisconsin.
They have top-notch graduate programs in the hard sciences.
They're one of the top 5-10 public universities in the country.
the one time i visited there i hooked up with a girl that was in the big televen playboy edition
The Memorial Union Terrace is a great place to drink in the summer.

Doing Keg Stands in a Frat House on Langdon at 4am...
That's a nice thing, right?
And if you do Law School there, you don't have to take the Wisconsin Bar Exam.

That's applicable to any law school in Wisconsin - including Marquette's.

Agreed on Platteville, but plenty of adult beverages to be had in La Crosse, too.
I'll say the same nice thing I said about UW-Moscow in this thread last year at this time. It marks the two-thirds point of my trip to watch a far superior basketball team play.
Their faculty IP policy is a large reason I have my awesome job. ;D
Uh, guys, the whole point of this thread was to throw veiled insults, stereotypes, and jabs at UW Dane Co. under the guise of "niceness." It wasn't to actually praise the school.
i.e. the Ron Dayne comment should have been about Booker Stanley
I appreciate Marquette more because of UW-Madison.
Our team looks better because of UW-Madison.
UW-Madison reduces the number of unqualified applications Marquette has to reject.
McDonald's is fully staffed and my garbage is picked up in a timely fashion because of UW-Madison graduates.
UW-Madison reduced the likelihood that Marquette's Board of Trustees would choose a rodent of some sort for a mascot.
When I stand in Brookfield facing east and fart, I don't feel bad thanks to UW-Madison.
ha, i remember seeing booker stanley beat the sh*t out of some guy at the mifflin street block party from up on a balcony. i had the best seat in the house. theres a good memory of UW.

He still had handcuff marks when Barry let him return to everyday football player operations.
1. I guess the women aren't bad looking. Having the lowest percentage of in-state students of any public school in the country helps...
2. Having gone to school there freshman year I know what hell is like, thus I have more motivation to be a good person the rest of my life to avoid going back. In case anyone was wondering, by the time basketball season came around I already hated the school, so I had no problem going to the game in Madison decked out in Marquette apparel, or wearing it around campus for most of the year for that matter.
3. A combination of the factors from #1 and #2: Their admissions department gives the gift of grace! I knew three or four people who wanted to go to UW-Madison. They had better grades and test scores than most out-of-staters I met in my time there, but were still wait-listed or flat-out rejected. Thus, the admissions department saved them from going to hell.
You could sit there among the gum-flapping freshman multitude and console yourself with the fact that most of them would be gone by next year.
My brother almost went there.
Lake Mendota is a pretty sight from the Union.

That's because there are only two law school in Wisconsin: Madison and Marquette.
Nice things could be said but the Rodent Joke thread is so much better.
nothing, sorry.
Their team colors match the student body's (and town's) political leanings.
They have some of the best Photoshop artists around.
They know a good shoe deal when they see one.
Favorite Booker Stanley memory: I was working building staff at the AMU during one of the Sorority formals a few years ago (2004?). Booker Stanley tries to get into the dance without an MU ID or MU guest. After being turned away by one of the managers proceeds to scream something along the lines of "Do you know who I am? I'm Booker Stanley, B1tch!" before storming out. Instant Classic.
They've managed to reduce their puppy/kitten murdering a whole 4% in the last decade!
Ahhh, I remember playing in some greek-sponsored softball tourney on the lake, face down in some bar on Halloween, admiring the purdy girls, and generally have a great time.
Though, the most brain-cells lost was at UW-LaCrosse...still a little hazy, I do remember touching breasts so I'm sure I had an even better time at UWLAX. Now if only I could remember her face...
Enough memory lane, I want to see a 10 point beat down on those rodents. Their home streak ends on Saturday.
They're not really Socialists (are they?)
I'm interviewing at their medical school soon.
They serve an awesome parrot cacciatore

What I meant was MU is the #1 Party School. While UW confuses itself as a party school, they really are just blinded by quanity and have no idea what quality means. There a big Friday night is hoping to be on a list for a frat house 45 minutes across campus while at MU you would start at a Brewery Tour move on to Bryants (RIP), hit a house party, a few campus bars, Real Chili, after-bars and then open the Harp. It would take 3 UW students to do that, at least.
Their Wade Choked better than our Wade!!!

Thanks!! I don't think you'd like her though she is a Tom Crean fan... not your type ;D
