Starts this week in Mequon. Was thinking about checking it out. Anybody who is familar with the AAU scene have any recommendations on which players to check out? Looking for consensus top 100 national guys, intriguing local prospects, and obviously Marquette targets.
I know Kobe King is with WI Playground Warriors. That's about all I have at this point.
Was told Kobe King is not there.
Watched Kostas and Jordan Poole of Playground Elite get waxed by Martin Brothers. Jordan Bohannon, Badger Jason Bohannon's brother was hitting from everywhere for Martin Bros. PE got it to 10, but were getting embarrassed by close to 20 most of the game. Duane Wilson's dad coaches. They went 1-16 in the Nike EYBL circuit. A lot of the city's best names, but they don't play like a team at all.
I've wondered how Brandon Hau from Mukwonago would progress over the last few years. I was really impressed with him as a soph in HS. I think he is Wisconsin's next Sam Hauser. He is a 2017 wing, 6' 6". I like his game more than Joey Hauser's. He plays for WI Shooters. He is having a good tourney, 30 last night - 3s, dunks, mid-range.
Forgot to mention, more than a few scouts at Playground Elite Deiner's first game just from curiosity standpoint. I know a few who aren't that curious any more. 30 minute stop clock game. PE Deiner scored 15 TOTAL points. They lost again yesterday. Pretty sure Mark Miller isn't tweeting that. John Deiner is a good player, but not in the top level in my opinion. Mark Miller has him as the #4 player in class -- no f'n way. He gets to jack up 20+ shots a game in hs because his dad is coach. Put him on any other team and he just a good sophomore. Conversely, watched Mitch Listau a 2018 wing from WI Swing that Miller has below Deiner. He played up on Swing's 17U last night, same size as Diener, just a much more complete player.
FREEPORT WARRIOR----Got any more knowledge of the ny2la prospects? Enjoy reading. How
did Trev Anderson do?
I did not see Trev, but a friend watched his game and said he played real well on Thursday. He said there were a ton of scouts watching his game. Kezo Brown 2018 from Mac Irvin Fire is absolutely legit. I think he just made the ESPN Top 25 and plays for Mac Irvin Fire -- (Jabari, Okafor, Steve Taylor alums). Plays HS at Simeon. There were a ton of scouts for Jordan Poole too last night -- team didn't look too good, but he hit a ton of 6-foot beyond the arc threes. I'm not sold on him, but I know a bunch of others who are.
A friend of mine told me about Justin Pierce from Mercury Elite yesterday -- only saw a half, but he looks like a D1 guy to me. Saw a little of McCabe yesterday and he continues to impress me and I have not always been his biggest fan. His teammate on PGW, a center named Trapp is 7' 1" -- reminds me of Rod Gross. But he is so tall in 15U ball that all he has to do is stand with his hands up and he blocks a ton of shots from attacking guards.
I'll be there tonight and report back anything of note.
Thanks for all the info Freeport. Greatly appreciate it. Any scuttlebutt in the stands about MU recruiting targets?
Can you say "butt" here, hey?

No. Duane was at the PE game where his dad was coaching and I saw a few MU hats in the crowd. I think Playground Elite is a "Marquette" school in general - Sandy played for them, HE, Marotta, Duane, etc. My gut is that if MU wants any of the guys on this team, Duane Sr. (Ike) would deliver them. Kostas, Poole, Nze, Lewis, Dillon are probably all D1 scholarship players. If MU wants them, they have a pretty easy road to signing them. But I don't know if Wojo would want any of them. Flory is on this team as well, however I didn't see him playing or on the bench. Even though he is ranked lower, I would take Hau over any of these guys from the simple eye test. Poole, maybe. Kostas is so raw.

Any Amir Coffey sightings?
re: Trevor Anderson...
WI Academy-Kostroski doesn't play in Minneapolis until tomorrow. Could be doing double-duty.
Did 4 days at last week's tournament and been here all 5 days this tournament. Coffey isn't here, but Theo John was. First game I saw him he got in early foul trouble and didn't make much of an impact. Good shot blocker, but didn't offer much else in the parts of the two other Howard Pulley games I saw.
As for the PGE. Jordan Poole has been the best player I've seen this tournament. They're about to lose, but he's the only reason they got back into the game. They started down 19-0 before he got in. I have no clue why he doesn't start, no one does. His jumper is beautiful. Only person here with a better jumper may be Tony Carter from MBA Hoops. Terrence Lewis is nice, but he needs to continue working on the shot. I'm sure this year at Riverside will be great for him. Kostas is really bad at basketball. He has potential, but he needs a prep year badly. Defensive potential is insane, though. He is also an And1 machine.
Edit: PGE just came back and won. Great game. Even Kostas played well. Had a monster block.
