Diener and Nelson compare him to Rotnei Clarke from Butler.
If Rowsey ends up being 2/3 the player Clark was, I will be very happy.
I'm glad the coaching staff is excited about him, but its tough for me to be too encouraged about the prospect of a shoot-first point guard who has a collegiate career FG% under 40%.

While averaging almost 20 ppg and nailing over 100 three pointers...His usage will go down at Marquette which more than likely means his efficiency goes up

That is why it is important to look at effective FG%. In his career Rowsey has shot 171-391 on 2FG (.437) and 208-529 3FG (.393). That volume of 3FGs vs 2FGs explains why his career eFG% is a very healthy .525. Compare that to Travis Diener's career eFG% of .532 and you should feel a bit better.
I know the Big South is far less difficult than what Travis faced in C-USA but ignoring eFG% is ignoring a key part of the story.
Rowsey is going to be a very effective player for us. I think he will be getting quite a few open looks. Looking forward to his eligibility.

When you return as a 5'10" sophomore who led the league in scoring as a freshman, any league will be quite challenging.

Oh god.... See Matt Carlino. Do we really need to do this again?
For me the jury is still out on Rowsey. Remember hearing rumors how Gabe Levin (I know, there's a name) was the best guy at practice? Didn't even finish his red shirt year. Let's not start making Rowsey to sound like a top 50 prospect here.

I never heard rumors that he was the best guy at practice. Heard rumors that he was good but not the best. Besides, his transfer had nothing to do with playing time.
Rowsey is obviously shorter, but he reminds me a bit of Anthony Pieper.

Another 15, 3, 3 guy who shoots 82% from the stripe and 42% from deep. unnatural carnal knowledge me, those guys fall off trees, right?
For the worst team in the Big East, we sure have some greedy fans.

+1. How many games would we have won without Matt last year? Answer: not many.

Missed his California gf
She stood there bright as the sun on that California coast
He was a midwestern boy on his own
She looked at him with those soft eyes, so innocent and blue
He knew right then he was too far from home
He was too far from home

buxom blond haired girl
alluring on golden sand
he's plowing new fields
Forget the Clarke comparison.
If he's anything like Mo in his Senior year, win win!

Some of Pure Michigan's finest.
I caught a Seger concert in 2013 at the United Center and it was my number one concert until The Grateful Dead's last shows a couple weeks ago. I was telling all my buddies that I'm lucky they're not going on tour because I would be a liability to drop everything and hit the road. They were beyond incredible. The Music Never Stops!!!

Why did Levin transfer?
I think one of the assistants from LMU got a job at Long Beach State and convinced him to come out there. He would have been a big factor for us this year.
I think that is why he ultimately landed at LBSU, but there was the whole girlfriend thing that got him looking in the first place.

When Rowsey becomes eligible in November of 2016, he will have the highest collegiate point total out of any player on Marquette's roster.
Even after taking a year off.
Duane Wilson would need to eclipse Dwyane Wade's single season scoring record by 154 points to tie Rowsey.
