I know, I know...the polls don't mean anything...espcially this early but it's really frustrating that for the second time in this early season we didn't lose in a given week and still dropped in the polls. WTF?! First we drop becuase (apparently) we didn't beat up on the early season cupcakes badly enough...then we win by 35 and still drop? Yet, Michigan State moves up 3 spots to #10 after beating Jacksonville by 29 and Pitt moves up 4 spots after beating Toledo by 26. Frustrating.

Wisconsin only dropped 3 spots to #23 despite the huge huge loss to Duke.
Explain that?
The coaches poll is a joke anyway as half of them don't even vote themselves. The AP poll is the granddaddy of them all!
Agreed....although I'm glad WI stayed in the rankings...it'll make it a better win for us. :)
Did we fall 1 spot and get less votes this week in the ESPN Poll or is it just me?
http://sports-ak.espn.go.com/ncb/rankings
Nope...you're exactly right...11 less votes and fell one spot for beating our only opponent by 35 this week. Ridiculous.
Beat Wisconsin and we'll move up.
At least we're back to 11 in the AP. But I definitely agree with LastWarrior; let's beat Wisconsin. That should get us into the top 10 in both polls.
The ESPN/Coaches poll is a joke. ESPN will do whatever they can to keep teams ranked that are playing on ESPN that week. We play UW on ESPN 2 so there is incentive for ESPN to keep UW ranked because a #15 vs. #23 looks a lot better on the bottom line and will probably get a random college bball fan to watch more then a #13 vs. non ranked.
I also guess that 3 point victory Louisville had against Ball State solidified there position above us in the coaches poll.
I don't think there's a conspiracy to the latest coaches poll. Last year at about this time, coming off our CBE win over Duke, Andy Katz had us at #3 in the country. It is what it is: an early season poll, and I'm sure we'll learn who the pretenders are before too long.

I don't think there is a conspiracy. I just think the whole voting process is a sham. Many coaches give their picks to someone else to fill out. If a coach can't fill out the poll they shouldn't even be on the commitee.
Until this happens the ESPN/Coaches poll is dead to me.

What it is is a travesty. It's a travesty of a mockery of a sham of a mockery of a travesty of two mockeries of a sham.
titan, that may be the best picture ever. However, where is Bo?
no need to care about the polls...especially the coaches one (it has been said numerous times already that the coaches sometimes don't even vote) just need to keep winning...I can't wait to see how Burke and Ooze will do against Wisconsin's frontcourt because I think the frontcourt could doom Marquette this year
There are still quite a few voters who are not sold on MU yet. UW game is crucial as it is our only decent true non-conf road game and last non-conf ranked team we play.
Here's Bo
