OK folks, we finally got some much needed upgrades in. There's still more to do, but I *think* we're at a point that everything is stable.
Things that I know are broken...
- The Resources menu doesn't work in IE11 (use Chrome or Firefox)
- Users can't log into the wiki
- Auto posting of blogs isn't re-enabled yet.
If you notice any other problems, post them here. Like I said, we've still got some more to do, but we'll get to that...

Also question. What is the function of the buddies list? What does it do if I add someone on there?

A Buddy List displays all of the members on the forum whom you have added as a "buddy". This list will also show their online status and contact information if available.
So... Basically you can stalk others online activity... All in one convenient list, lol.

What's with the "Posting Activity by Time" in the General Statistics?
I would have to say that I do 99% of my posting between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m., but my stats are showing that I do a ton of posting between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m., and do almost no posting after 5 p.m.

How about when clicking "Mark Read" that it takes you back to the forum list instead of now remaining on that page? I liked that better so I can see that the Politics Forum remains unread by me.

I can't find an option for that. But I did enable the option to ignore entire boards.
Go to:

Yeah, it seemed like a default - with no option before, and so it remains. Thanks for checking.

I don't get it.
This page lets you ignore particular boards. When a board is ignored, the new post indicator will not show up on the board index. New posts will not show up using the "unread post" search link (when searching it will not look in those boards) however, ignored boards will still appear on the board index and upon entering will show which topics have new posts. When using the "unread replies" link, new posts in an ignored board will still be shown.Put another way, I checked the
Cesspool Politics board to ignore, but nothing seems different. Is the answer in that text above? If it is, can you explain it more clearly to me?

From here http://www.muscoop.com/index.php, you won't see the icon for the Polics board being colored Blue and Gold(ish), it will appear grey as if there are no new posts. However if you open the gates of hell and enter the board, it will show everything unread as unread. And your eyes will burn.
Have to say, I love the increase to 50 ppp 8-)

So the politics board doesn't disappear completely, as all things unspeakably evil should. However, I no longer have to see it in the "recent posts" feed.
That's an improvement.
Thanks for running the site.. you guys do a Great Job!!
Thank you for the updates, looking good.
A previous feature I liked that I don't see now is the ability to mark "all posts read" by subcategory. For example, I could mark all politics posts read.
Is that still possible? I saw the earlier post about unsubscribing, though this was a bit different.

To be fair, we are currently limiting the recent posts to the Al board...an option we didn't have before.
So I guess ignoring a board doesn't have much use beyond not showing it with new posts, and not showing posts from it if you use the "show unread posts since last visit" option.

We had to remove it from the Resources menu, due to a technical problem. But, at the top right of every board, there is a "Mark read" button that does the same thing. Also, at the bottom of the main index page (listing all the boards), there is now a "Mark all messages as read" button to get everything in one fell swoop.
On behalf of the long-time lurkers on this board, I just want to say thanks for all you guys do in keeping MUScoop up and running.

Mobile viewing should now be much more optimized. If you don't like the "simple" view on your mobile (or ipad, or galaxy tab....), then select "Desktop View" in the browser, and you should again see it just as you would with a regular PC.

I can't believe it was that long either. We wanted to use more, but we couldn't get the rest of the layout to work correctly with the side blocks...I'll shoot you an e-mail.
And with that, I should acknowledge that Crew put a good amount of work into helping us get some updates done back in '09 - screencap of what we worked on attached. But we failed in ever rolling that out.
I may have missed this but is it possible to format the forum so that when I click a thread topic it will automatically take me to the first new post made since I last read the topic?
For example, the Beer Advocate website has it so that when I can click "Mark Forums Read" at 11.22 AM the next time I visit a particular thread it will open on the first post made after 11.22 AM that I haven't seen rather then opening the thread on the very first post and me scrolling down manually to that which I last remember reading.

Man I'm lost. Sorry if this has been posted already but where are all the links to the wiki and other resources. While it looks nice and I'm sure I'll like all the changes the more I look at it, I Do not like the new way of ignoring. Too many steps now. I like it! Nice job guys!
Only thought I have is to make the topic font bold, instead of regular. Since it is blue blue on light blue, it can be a little tougher to read, but that's a super minor issue, so no biggie if its not possible.
That may help in reading the topics easier (or maybe my eyesight is dropping quickly...)

This request isn't for me, but a friend of mine.
Is there anyway that Scoop can track how many people are clicking on threads that I've started and threads started by others and let me know if threads by others are getting more clicks than mine, so that I can modify the titles of my threads?
In the Wiki, I created the Presbyterian page.
However, there are two "Create This Page" links present: one in the top bar and one at the top right of the content page window (it's in italics).
The latter actually adds the content as a heading to ALL Wiki pages.

Lemme try to crowd source this one....if someone wants to come up with a tree of relevant external links, I'll move it into the menu. The current list is very dated. Here, PM, or Wiki is fine by me.

Sounds like the default iphone browser doesn't support it, so you have to use chrome, or another one.
Thanks for all the work you guys do to keep the site going.
So let me start by saying I love this site. However, two things that I found kind of annoying today during the Haukar / Golden Bears game... When I want to post and someone else has posted at the same time, it kicks me back and asks me to reevaluate my self worth and whether or not I want to post something stupid that someone else may have just said. I get why it's there, but is there a way to bypass this so I can make myself look like an idiot and post something someone else already just said?
And secondly, after I make said post, it kicks me back out to the main scoop page instead of staying on the thread that I just posted to... If this is by design, awesome, but it would be mucho better if I could stay in my thread instead of clicking back in...
First world problems, I'm well aware, but I blame my parents and Tom Crean for my lack of patience with this stuff...
