Did any scoopers attend? If so, how was it and what were your thoughts?
I'm an out of towner and wish I could attend these things but not in the cards.
Chick and I were there. Pretty standard fare including Wojo's normal comments. My only concern was watching our guys play volleyball for fun against the Women's VB team. Please be careful out there Henry. We don't need a slip and fall injury. Also that Steve Novak's cute little girl has a great seat on daddy's shoulders for the festivities.

Not as good as Jimmy Mac's daughter.
Also, (just so I can get the rumors flying), I noticed that Big Fishy was MIA.
For whatever reason, Wojo is huge on legacy players.
He had a meet and greet with them before the picnic. We were told about 50 showed up.

I had to miss it, so any comments are appreciated.
Did they serve hot dogs and hamburgers this year?

Nope, we are back to Bubb's BBQ.
Heard Luke wasn't there. Anyone know why?
Had some of the family down there and thought the turnout was smaller this year than last year. Think the weather might have scared some folks off. Nice event and nice group of kids. Had my two young nephews there and the team were extremely nice to them.

They had chicken, brats, barbecue and hot dogs. Also baked beans, pasta salad and potato salad. Very good.

Buzz actually did this as well. Sounds like about the same turnout. I understand Wojo calls them 'ambassadors'.

The food was as average as it has been in the past. It seems for year #1 they went way over board on great food and then realized they would get about the same turnout with average picnic fare. Seemed to be a little less games than years past (I have 3 kids so I noticed this stuff). Staff, current and former players all very accommodating in taking pictures with kids etc. It's a really cool event that I hope MU continues to do. Turnout was a little light but as mentioned, storms were expected but never showed up.

One former player who is in a few photos and is easy to ID is George Thompson. Guess "numbergate" wasn't any kind of deal breaker.

The only thing I know about Bubb's BBQ is that asinine commercial they run during Marquette radio broadcasts. They really need to change that.

The fanny pack is Greg "Pope" Johnson. In that picture is O Ball, Ric Cobb and Artie, I think.

I don't know, but if the Pope was ever confused and lost, I think he'd be found quickly! That is one man that standout in a crowd.
How was the sound quality? Could you hear everything WoJo said? What about the questions that were asked?
Was Jen the moderator, hey?

Sound quality was excellent.
I could hear Wojo just fine. Unfortunately, he didn't say anything I haven't already heard him say 20 times before.
And no questions were asked.

Nice article on The Pope. Left school without finishing his degree. In 2010, he reapplied under EOP and graduated in May 2014.

I am BBQ curious (sounds like a sex ad- lol).
With Buzz , the BBQ should have been Texas style,IE high quality Brisket very slow cooked with a dry rub . Here, Sauce isn't nearly as big a deal or key to BBQ rankings as it is in other locales.
With Wojo, the BBQ might shift to Carolina style which includes a sweet hickory sauce. Locales like KC, Memphis and the Carolinas grade their BBQ with more sauce emphasis.
Is the BBQ served now dryrub meat focused, or does the sauce make the BBQ?
Again, I am a BBQ curious lover. LOL

Sauce ruins the meat. Spoken like a true Texan.
Here Tex, the Que now consists of kielbasa, golabki, golanka, and pierogi, ai na?

Where do they inject their meat? That's what I do. Can't go wrong with some doctor pepper injections
Not a fan of the Carolina style. That's the more vinegary sauce right?
