Hi Everybody,
Feel free to move this to the Superbar if need be, but some have PM'd me asking how my son Bradley is doing, and I wanted to post here to give everyone an update.
We just past day +100, and Bradley is home and doing great. Last Tuesday, we had a battery of important tests done, and everything has come back with fantastic results. We're still waiting to hear on one last result that takes a long time, but currently he shows no signs of cancer, and is back home being an active five year old. 100 days post transplant is an important mile marker for the body to show (ideally) no signs of rejecting the transplant, and so far, so good.
I wanted to share a short story too involving you guys/gals. Marquette Magazine had reached out to me back in early April about doing a story on our family and our interactions with Henry Ellenson. That story will appear in the summer edition of the magazine, but wanted I really wanted to share is that as my interview with the reporter was wrapping up, I stopped the interview to make sure that it was included in the story how important the MU Scoop community has been in supporting our family. From prayers/posts here/personal messages/financial support, there's no way we would be keeping our head's above water today without all of you. It was very important to me that somehow, you all be mentioned in the article. I saw an advanced copy of the story, and it doesn't specifically cite Scoop, but does mention "an internet basketball message board" in the story.
Our family is and always will be grateful to all of you, and I look forward to hopefully having some type of gathering this November at an early season game where we can find a place on/near campus and our family can thank you guys/gals in person.
God Bless, Go MU!
-Brian
Way to go Bradley, asskicker for sure.
Dish,
Thanks for the update.
Coincidently, over the weekend I was thinking of the Dish family. My aunt casually mentioned that a relative is now President & CEO the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
I know he already has his heart fully into fund raising.
