Crowder gettig traded to the Celtics continuing to look like a blessing.
He just helped their playoff hopes with a game winner tonight!!!
Boston had already clinched a playoff berth. What Jae did was nearly guarantee that 8,000 Bulls fans crash the BMO BC as this more than likely slides the Raptors to the 4 seed and the Bulls get the 3 seed and a date with MKE.
Boston has played their way up to the 7, they'd probably be better having slumped to the 8 seed and take their chances with ATL instead of CLE. Boston is playing really well. Stevens may be a jedi.
Brad's just in da bullpen for when Fred needs a relief pitcher, hey?
Way to step up, Jae!!

Love it!!!
The box score on the yahoo sports app shows which players are in at the end of games and Jae is in 90% of the end of the Celtics games.
Amazing shot by Jae, I love the way he's been playing in a Boston uniform.
But I don't know how Stevens isn't getting more hype, and isn't really in the talks for coach of the year. I know that Kerr has done a great job in Golden State, and Budenholtzer has done great in Atlanta. But the Celtics started this season with low expectations, Lost their 3 best players in Jeff Green, Rondo, and Jared Sullinger(for most of the year due to injury, hes back now but a shell of himself). I know the East is historically weak but I couldn't be any happier with Stevens as a coach.
And coming to Boston has been an amazing opportunity for Jae. Stevens has a lot of trust in him and he's getting a lot of minutes and shots. I think we'll see a lot of Jae Vs. LeBron this series and I think he's the perfect guy to guard him with his strength/toughness. If he shuts down Lebron in a Kawhi Leonard like fashion this could be his national coming out party. Don't count out the C's.

It was Jae's present to Jimmy. But seriously I was going to post that exact comment.

Nope
Would have never guessed there was 5 pros on that 2010-11 team. Jimmy, Jae, DJO, Buycks, Blue all made it. At the time I would've guessed only maybe two of those 5 would make it and even that seemed like stretch.

It's more amazing to me that there were 4 pros on the 09-10 "Midgets" team: Lazar, Buycks, Jimmy, DJO. That's a team that barely squeaked into the NCAAs and was one of the smallest in the country.

If memory serves, it is the same shot, and maybe the same play, he made against Washington in Madison Square Garden. Defense is a tad better this time around :) making for a more difficult shot.
I hate Jae so much right now

Yeah, same spot for sure.
Though this shot reminded me a lot more of Novak's game winner against Notre Dame at the Bradley Center. The defense on him, time on the clock, fading to his right...

Danny Ainge didn't look overly enthused about it either.

I'm not going to quote anyone, but there's gold in 'dem dare hills.
Jae so deserves everything he has gotten and will get. He has worked very hard to make himself a legit NBA role player. That shot was amazing, and yes, the look on Ainge's face was precious: The classic "no, no, no ... yes!"
Gotta also give props here to Brad Stevens, who obviously is doing a great job.
reminds me of Novak's game winner against Notre Dame. Very similar circumstances and shot, although not off of an inbounds obviously.

Oh man there are some hysterical nuggets in there. Especially Ners going to bat so much for Gardner.

Exact same amount of time on the clock after the shot too.
Looks like the play was drawn up especially for him according to this interview. He sounds like he is really confident right now. Good to see.

I received this e-mail from the Boston Celtics yesterday. The Marquette alumni office was also contacted,
My name is Marc and I organize group events for the Boston Celtics. As leaders of the Massachusetts and Connecticut Marquette Clubs, I thought you might be interested in getting alumni together to come support former Marquette Big East Player of the Year Jae Crowder.
Not familiar with the Name? Check out what he's doing now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjTyu5AHAgY
The Celtics are currently offering playoff tickets starting at $45 for Games 3, 4, and 6 of the upcoming Round 1 series against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Would love talk more with all of you about how I can help create a memorable Marquette event at an upcoming game.
Regards,
Marc

No way. I live in Chicago and love the Bulls but Milwaukee is my hometown team. jsglow jr. and I will be in attendance for the first BMO BC game next Thursday and we'll be wearing the green. Still, I sincerely hope the ovation for Jimmy is thunderous. I hate it every time DWade gets booed in the United Center. Fear the deer!

He gets booed because Bulls fans really believed he was coming back to Chicago and bringing LeBron with him before LeBron decided to bring his talents to South Beach. Jimmy will probably get a thunderous ovation in Milwaukee, but unfortunately it will be due to the number of Bulls fans in attendance.

Nah, people like saying it's that, but it's not.
It's that Dwyane has consistently been a thorn to the Bulls, even before Lebron.

Wade owes absolutely nothing to the Bulls. Frankly, I for one am glad he decided on being one of the very few 'one team' guys. I've actively cheered for the Heat since the day he arrived.
As to Bulls fans traveling north, perhaps the good people of southeast Wisconsin could get behind their team just a bit more. We made it a point to buy our tickets before we knew the opponent knowing full well that waiting might cost us many rows and dollars.

I think the lack of excitement about Chicago players visiting the UC started when Isaiah Thomas and Mark Agguire were part of the bad boys defense that was exceptionally violent toward Jordan and Pippen. And in Milwaukee there's not tons of fans and I know that there's Marquette fans who love to go see former MU players so they give those players applause when they come home.

Wow... I don't know which is sadder... that the Celtics front office is trying to capitalize on a game-winning shot in order to hawk playoff tickets or the fact that Mr. Rogers felt the need to explain who Jae Crowder is (to a bunch of Marquette alumni leaders).
The Celtics front office evidently must be holding recruiting events at Syracuse and UCONN these days.

Ill be there for games 3 and 4 as well. Got a package deal for the Celtics game and the two playoff games for $35. Ill be wearing my Marquette jersey cheering for the Bulls. Shockingly, I dont have any Bulls apparel besides a D-Rose t-shirt and I left that at home and havent worn that since about 2012.

We'll be in 401 on Thursday if you want to look for us. jsglow jr. was there last night with a buddy who got the same package as you. Told me that I can have the new logo T shirt that he got out of the deal.

That's not really true, though.
Wade averages 21.5 ppg vs the Bulls, which is 2.6 ppg below his career average, and less than all but two other NBA teams (Boston and Charlotte).
His .456 shooting percentage against the Bulls is again well below his career average, and ranks above only that against Boston and San Antonio.
His playoff stats vs the Bulls aren't any better.
In the 2013 playoffs, he averaged less than 13 ppg vs the Bulls.
In the 2011 playoffs, he averaged 18.6 ppg vs the Bulls.
Again, these are below his career averages.
Fair or not, Bulls fans turned on Wade because he publicly stated that he was seriously considering signing with the team in 2010, when (it later became known) he never had any intention of doing so.

Yup, couldnt pass up that deal. Especially since at the time they were most likely going to play the Bulls. Thank god for the Bucks to struggle to sell tickets. However, I have terrible luck when it comes to Bulls playoff games. Last two I went to were the Bulls last home games of the playoffs. When they played the Wizards back in 2005 and Arenas hit a game winner over Hinrich and the next year as well when they played the Heat. If im in the audience, bucks have a chance.
