warms my heart to see Kentucky Cretans ink themselves with this fond memory for years to come! I must admit of all the teams Marquette plays I dislike them the most by far. I believe Adolf Rupp has a lot to due with this.
Tickets to game going for $75 now.....massive firesale by UK fans.
That's one of the benefits of playing the early game. When MU lost to Kansas, we had Texas fans come down and buy our tickets right then and there before their game even started. Paid for the whole trip. Texas went on to lose to Syracuse....ouch. Took an early flight home that Monday, in time to watch the game on tv that night.
I sold my tickets in Dayton 1972, made sure they didn't go to a Kentucky fan

One of my favorite Al McGuire quotes involves an NCAA press conference where Dixie "good-ole boy" (to be kind) Adolf Rupp spoke paternalistically and in a condescending tone to Al, referring to him as "Son." Al's quick wit came to the fore, and he replied, "Don't ever call me Son again, unless you plan on including me in your WILL!!"
