Title: Greorgetown/Eastern Washington
Post by: Tugg Speedman on March 19, 2015, 10:29:44 PM
Ok, it's early and maybe they turn it around but they are down 5 to #13 Eastern Washington with 6 minutes left in the first half.

In the last few years, Georgetown has been a horror show in the tourney.  Year-in and year-out they choke away games and get upset by lower seeds.

They are BE "brothers" so I'm pulling for them.  That means I've been a Georgetown fan for about 1 hour and I'm already getting worried.  Die-hard Hoya fans must be changing their shorts.

Was their a story with MU and Aaron Bowen?  Did he want to come here or was MU one of his final schools?

I really wish this game were on CBS. They have UK-Hampton...

Bowen committed to MU because of his relationship with Dale Layer. When Dale left Bowen didn't feel he had a relationship with Buzz so he was rumored to followed Dale to Liberty but opened up his recruitment and settled at Georgetown. Since he hadn't attended school and I believe didn't sign his NLI the BE league transfer rules did not apply allowing him to land with the Hoyas.

To be fair, they weren't in danger from a few minutes left in the first half to the finish.  Even when they were being pressed, they were still up 8-10.  Crazier things have happened as we saw today, but I thought GT had for more poise and control than say, Baylor, earlier.

Yeah, like Eastern Washington winning at Bloomington back in November.

Not a horrible team, and GT was in control most of the way.

Given what occurred elsewhere in the NCAAs, any win is a good win. GT has no reason to apologize for anything.

So we replaced the Rec Center with a red football field?  Good by me, as long as they re-routed 16th and found another  place for the nursing school.

Also against the nation's leading scorer, and in Portland.  Very solid effort by the Hoyas.

Yeah... it does look like each floor is in business for itself over there (like Steve Buscemi's teeth).

I was just in Portland, but did not feel like waiting 2+ hours in a light rain for Voodoo. No donut is worth that.

Ouch.  I was just there as well, and I think we were in and out in under 10 minutes at one of their downtown locations.  Had one with maple flavored frosting and bacon on top.  Delicious.
