Steve Lavin just announced Chris Obekpa is suspended for two weeks, pretty much ensuring he won't play in the NCAA Tournament. Interesting timing to say the least.
Guess he won't be back for his senior season.......?
If Obekpa is gone, man, that's Harrison, Pointer, Branch, Greene, and Obekpa all leaving. St John's will be awful next year.
Was it for wearing short shorts?
Y'all think St Johns is still in ? Any chance the selection committee pulls them from the tournament upon hearing this news?
I think they are still in and early out.
The timing of this is just dumb
Perhaps some internal strife with how Lavin is handling his players and their transgressions, and this is a bid (mind the pun) to save his job.

I think to late to make seeding changes.

Unlikely. Maybe drop their seeding, but doing that this late would be a ton of work. I think it will stay the same, with the committee spokesman trying to BS everyone into believing "oh, we definitely took that information into account."

Would the PTB have a reason to announce the suspension before the brackets are announced? Otherwise, they must not think that would affect them.
Lavin now is not the time for this garbage, you gotta make fun cuz ur gonna suck next year.

I hope this means we will finish higher than SJ next year.

... And DePaul... 8th place is worst case scenario
They said on WFAN this morning he tested positive for marijuana and that was the cause of the suspension.

This is written with the presupposition that Lavin does anything close to "handling" his players. Jamaica is an asylum and Lav certainly ain't Nurse Ratched.
