Just say Wally's first jump. The announcer added "with plenty of room" at the end of his cleared height.
Go, Kangaroo Kid!
Do they do the clapping for a sense of rhythm?
They should make him an outfit that resembles the basketball team's.
Here is a link to the live results which are updated after each jump. An O means they made that height, an x means they missed and p means they passed at that height. You have three attempts at each height.

Absolutely not. Let each sport have its own identity. The soccer team, for example, has had some pretty kick-ass unis of its own.
Wally over at 7'2.5 on 2nd attempt
Jerry Sandusky sitting in the chair in the corner with his legs crossed...how did he get out for this event?
Bar being raised to 7' 3 3/4" and 11 of the 16 jumpers are still in it, including Wally of course.

This height should eliminate quite a few jumpers.

And he clears it
1st try.
Wally first jumper over 7'3/4". Nice to clear on the first attempt as tie breakers are decided by your number of misses.

That ties his best. No one else is the field has ever jumped this height.

His best is 7 5.5
Some dude from Texas Tech has also cleared.
Most these dudes look like they have no chance at this height.

Referring to the stats in the link. Must be meet best. I stand corrected.
What does PPP mean?

Well, if he is even 1/2 the basketball player as the original "kangaroo kid" we have a winner.
Going up to 7'5". Four jumpers remaining. Three guys cleared 7'3/4" and one guy, DJ Smith from Auburn passed at that height and is still in the competition.

What does PPP mean?
It means he passed at that height, which you can do. However, if he missed at 7'5" that jumper is only credited with the 7'2 1/2' height.
Miss on first attempt....since he is listed in 2nd place he has to clear this height to have a chance
nvm
TT guy over 7'5 without a miss....... >:(
Wally's passing this height?
He's a good practice coach, but maybe not a good game coach, eh?
Wally has passed on his last two attempts at 7-5 (2.25m). He will try again at 7-6 (2.29m). If he clears this height, it will be a new PR.
Wally's current PR is 7-5 3/4 (2.28m) set in January in Bucky's fieldhouse.
Dude with the clipboard is the Jim Burr of Track and Field.
Give this Auburn guy a technical!!!
Can't stream it on ESPN3. Anyone having difficulty with the stream?

Looks to me like the official walked right in front of him just as he was about to start his jump.

Also having trouble with ESPN3. Looks like their feed doesn't start for another 30 minutes. This Arkansas one is working for me though.
He passed because one of the TT guys made it on his first height, so even if he makes that height he is still behind him due to more misses. So he is saving his energy for three attempts at 7'6" .

Makes sense. Thanks for the explanation.
His only real go is to win, so this gives him the best chance by passing. Not sure what happened with the Auburn guy.
They now list Auburn guy with three misses, so only three guys left.

I thought he missed his time allotment. Don't you have only a certain amount of time to complete your jump?
Some cuties in the girls' shot put competition!!! :-* :-* :-*

So Wally has a top three finish at the worst.

I think you are correct. Wally missed his first attempt, which they didn't show us so we can see awards. Frustrating.
SIU girl is a riot. Having fun as she should be.
This is more exciting than half the games we played this year.

They've changed it now to say the Auburn dude skipped his last attempt and is still in it.
If nobody makes 7'6" wally will be third. But he should just go ahead and make 7'6" and win the darn thing.
YO the Arkansas girls are box!
Wally's up!
EDIT: Just jumped into the bar.
EDIT2:
TT's Adkins almost cleared. Shoes clipped the bar.
TT's Duffield CLEARED.
Now they took the Auburn guy out again with three misses at 7'5".

He's gotta be. He's put on his hangout clothes.
BOTH TT jumpers are answering each other's challenges. amazing.
Two over at 7-6, both Texas Tech guys.
Does Wall pass again? If he makes this height he is still third. Can he make 7-7?

He must have passed again.
He must be done? I think the TT guys are on their second chances at 7'7 now
Quote from: MU1980 on March 14, 2015, 05:42:52 PM

He has three consecutive misses. He missed once at 7'5", passed two other misses to 7'6", which he missed on both.

Got it. Oh well, the winning height was over his personal best jump, so he didn't really lose it, just got beat by two very good jumpers.
Glad there's a chick there to raise a big red flag when the pole comes down.
