Even his coaching doesn't help the girl:

This may not be the place for this, but the more I see Buzz lately he looks like a heart attack waiting to happen. I don't see him lasting for the long haul. I know he lost the weight, but he just doesn't look good.

You could say that about a lot of D-I coaches. I don't think it helps that he's a naturally heinous looking human being.

Would most coaches leave their team's huddle during a close game to coach a fan shooting free throws?  What if he did this at MU during a tight game in the BET?  How would we have reacted?

We would have rejoiced that he was taking the time to teach anyone to shoot free throws!

The hillbilly is VaTech's concern, not mine.

Seems like a distraction to me he intentionally created to take focus off his team, knowing they would likely lose as they've done in ACC play all year. And it worked, this is the topic for today anyway for VT instead of yet another conference defeat.

Ignoring his reasons, whatever they were, isn't having some sweaty bald guy right on top of you barking at you while you're trying to make a free throw counterproductive?

Yeah, that was my thought as well.   The article calls it "coaching," but standing there yelling "make it" sounds more like harassment.
