How many have actually seen his numbers at Duke? Somebody asked what would Derrick have been like with 4 years under Wojo? Hell, Derrick is Wojo. No wonder Wojo thinks so highly of him.

We just expect more since we need more from Derrick given this team. Correct me if I am wrong but hasn't Duke won a few games even with a Derrick clone? Time to let this old discussion fade into the sunset. If you don't like the coach or Derrick, it is OK with me but is it not time to move on?

So Ners was right?
I always agreed with ners that Wojo liked Derrick because D reminded Wojo of himself. I just didn't view it as a bad thing.
Hmm ... Derrick could only dream of those 3-point and FT shooting percentages.
Wojo was at least a threat to hit a shot during a game.

But teams didn't seek out Wojo in foul situations like the do Derrick.
Wojo did shoot free throws better.

You also didn't pin it to the wall of your bedroom and connect it with yarn to every single real or perceived problem the team has.
So we can expect Derrick to stick around as an assistant?
One major difference is that one could shoot a little, and the other can't shoot at all.

There was a big difference in their games, especially since Wojo improved so much as a Junior and Senior. Coach K all but encouraged Wojo to transfer after his Sophomore year, but he stuck it out and improved. Wojo was a hugh leader, could get into the lane, and could shoot it when needed. Big difference. But I don't want to dog DWil so I'll leave it at that.

awesome!
Wojo also played with five future first round NBA draft picks his senior year. (Avery, Battier, Brand, Langdon and McLeod)
Derrick is Wojo? How/what/huh? Wojo averaged 39% from 3 and 75% from the line. Derrick made 22% of his 3s and 45% from the free throw line. Wojo averaged 2.5 steals per game, Derrick 1.2.
They are the same in that they both played PG and weren't the featured scorers on their team, I guess. ::)
Wojo didn't block a single shot in college? That can't possibly be true. Everyone that played more than 5 minutes on our roster blocked at least 2 shots this season. (http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/team/stats/_/id/269/marquette-golden-eagles (http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/team/stats/_/id/269/marquette-golden-eagles)) (Editorial note: Derrick blocked 10.)
That has to be a mistake.

Wojo didn't block a single shot in college? ... Derrick blocked 10.
Clearly, an infinitely better player than Wojo!

But Wojo led the nation in floorboard deflections.
