I can't believe what Wojo is doing to this team with this recruiting class. You know how bad some of the players on the current roster are going to feel because he threw them under the bus by recruiting players better than them. How does he expect to field a competitive team if he hurts the feelings of those type of players. Really just shows what an awful person he is and how this program is not going to grow. What's next, is he going to continue to expect guys to work hard in practice? Get real. What does he know about collegiate basketball. He has never played at a high level and certainly didn't work under one of the greatest coaches in the game for years and years. It just doesn't make sense. I for one just hope he comes to his senses and goes back to recruiting players that think defense and rebounding are far less important than scoring and that practice is not the proper place to expend too much energy or work on a winning attitude. You will all see, this highly ranked recruiting class will be the beginning of the end for Coach Wojo.

Ok, I'll bite. Aside from Henry being better than Steve, who else in this class is better than the returners that will beat the returners out? There are no returners at PG. Don't think Heldt will beat out Fischer. That leaves Cheatham and Anim. Maybe/maybe not. Are they better than JJJ or Duane or Sandy? Don't think we know yet.

I'm excited about this recruiting class, especially two, three years from now. But I'm venturing an educated guess here that Heldt, Anim, Carter, and Cheathem, will all have some really nice moments, and some really ugly moments, next season. Duane is a very talented player, but we've all seen his inconsistencies this year, some games really good, other games, DePaul this past Saturday for instance, horrible. And Duane had the benefit of a redshirt season.
Henry's impact is going to be immediate and significant. The other four guys, I really think the best, most optimistic outlook for the other four are Duane like freshman seasons, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if two or three of those four are closer to what Sandy's been this year. Nothing wrong with Sandy, I'm a big fan of his potential, but he's certainly played like a freshman this year, albeit a very talented and skilled one.
In other words, our returning guys better improve significantly this off-season- Luke, Duane, STJ, Sandy, especially, if we want out of the Big East basement and anywhere near sniffing an NCAA bid. College basketball remains about how good are your returning guys, unless you have a recruiting class of Henry's like Kentucky and Duke regularly pull in.

They are currently banned or maybe they would have posted this type of thread themselves, without the sarcasm.
Remember, All returning players will have one year of experience under Wojo. Can see D-Wil, JJJ, Teve, Cohen, and Luke being better next season. All but "Teve" will have to hit the weights. Also, we will have a deep bench. Even Wojo will have a year to look
at things he would have done different.

His first recruiting class has gone extremely well. Ultimately it has to translate into W's. I hope he improves his in game coaching as I feel that's been his most disappointing attribute this season. Those expecting too much from the freshman (including Henry) may be setting themselves up for frustration.
Year three will be very important in determining what MU has with Wojo.

Like most rookies in any profession, Wojo has room for improvement. And like most people who work hard at their jobs, I expect he will improve, and quite significantly.
I can't think of any reason any Marquette fan should be anything but very optimistic.

Thanks MU82. With all the excitement of the announcement of Carter committing to Marquette, I was half expecting a negative post by Ners or Texas Western somehow turning this into a negative and accusing Wojo of doing something wrong and not caring about his current players. Then I remembered that they were banned and realized how nice it is to not have them around and thought I would have some fun with what I thought Texas Western might say. I guess not everyone follows MUScoop all that closely or they would have caught the sarcasm right away. At least I did get someone to put me on ignore for my ignorant post.
I thought the sarcasm was obvious. But st the same time, where has duanewade been?
I think the "signed Texas Western" made it obvious....
Just imagine how we will all feel when Coach K retires after the NCAA tournament, Wojo is named his successor and he takes all these recruits with him. Things will get real interesting a few months from now.
