Shame the season went the way it did but man I had some fun times in the student section. My two favorite moments were playing jump around after having the Badgers in hand and the Jake Thomas 4 point play vs. Cuse. Don't know what the point of this thread is but it's kinda sad. Feel free to share your favorite student section moments.
That's easy. Doc Rivers buzzer beater against Notre Dame.
Hey Luke, no worries my young friend. Victory is just as sweet and defeat just as painful 10, 20, 30 years after they hand you your diploma. Congratulations in advance. And no effing up these last 6 weeks of school.
I had MU boxer shorts and goofy sunglasses that I wore to every game. Boxers on the outside. During one of the games being shown on WGN, I went charging down the staircase toward the cameraman. When I went home for the summer, a girl I knew wanted to know if she had seen me on TV during the MU DePaul game and then described the moment.
Tops however, will being in the vicinity when beer got spilled on Digger.
I think this is fairly appropriate here:

I was spoiled on my Senior day in 2012, by the team, the crowd and the result. Best "I believe" chant by far. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AF2ki9Y4rs (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AF2ki9Y4rs)
Notre dame for senior day in 2013 took a picture sent it to the big east and won the fan of the week contest getting me an all expense paid trip for the tournament.
I just pretend I didn't go to any games last year.

So terribly true.
Novak's entire game against #2 UConn. 41 points 16 rebounds.

second that. What an atmosphere that was. Also, does anyone remember the game, I think again Pitt or Gtown, where all the students got glow sticks with string? needless to say it never happened again but what a scene when the lights went out for the lineups. second best moment
Pretty much any game with Wade my JR and SR year. 11-11 1st half against Eastern Illinois. The dunk against ECU. Upsetting #4 Cincy JR year. Clinching C-USA title against Cincy my SR year.
My last game as a student at MU was at The Omni in ATL. In fairness and full disclosure, I was not an undergrad in 1977.

That was your last game while a student at Our Lady of Sorrow Elementary, aina?
On a related note, does anyone remember the two guys who dressed up in the boxing gloves every game? Seemed like they were there for like 8 years.

I do remember those guys. Seems like they graduated about '10. Well, I assume that they graduated.

They both graduated in '08. One with a Mechanical Engineering degree and one with a Finance degree. I spent a lot of hours outside the BC with the two of them, and both are standing up in my wedding this summer.
Good way to end. Got Ryckbosch to talk back to me on the bench enough to where one of their assistants had to talk to him. ;D
My last game as an undergrad we beat St John's and Lou Carneseca in the NIT finals. Dean Meminger won the tournament MVP over Pistol Pete Maravich.
There were some great home games during Wade's years, beating Wisconsin and rushing the court against Cinci come to mind. But there was one memory from the years before Wade that always makes me smile. Danny Pudi was a superfan in those days even though the team was .500 and when they did win it tended to be ugly. His energy often fired up the student section, it was kind of like having a mascot back there. One game he got this thing going where someone from up high would throw something down to him (right behind the basket) and he would throw it back. (I want to say up in the upper bowl but now I'm not sure how often there were actually people up there in those years.) The object they chose to throw was a rolled up tube sock. Somehow at least some subset of the student section got into this so we were cheering on every throw and catch. Finally security came over to take the object for safety reasons, as I'm sure we all figured they would eventually do. So then Pudi gets this chant going, "It's just a dirty sock! It's just a dirty sock!" I can't totally trust my memory here so I don't remember whether it was the whole student section or just a group around him but it was enough that I heard it and started cracking up. The security guard could hear it as well and was smiling as he walked away with the contraband.
Remember one game where Danny Pudi dressed up in some ridiculous outfit and got on the Sportscenter opening montage. My friends and I were sitting in the same row and had a "Holy Sh*t we were just on Sportcenter" moment as we watched in our living room. Technically only my right arm made the screenshot but we could visibly see faces of three of my friends.
It was only years later that we realized the crazy guy who got on Sportscenter was in fact Danny Pudi. While we were in school we didn't know who he was. Then Community came out and the alumni newsletter had a write up on Pudi. Two of my friends ran into him at the Vandy road game a few years ago and told him the Sportscenter story. Danny graciously posed with them for a pic. They said he was a nice guy and happy to meet some fellow MU fans.

Lenny Man, I was there also for the semi-finals and finals. Sports headline in the NY Post on Friday morning was "Pistol Pete Meets Defeat." ;D

Doc, remember Press Maravich's (Pete's old man and LSU's head coach) comments before the game? "Marquette's a defensive team. Watching defense is as exciting as watching the grass grow." After MU routed the Tigers 101-79, Al laughed and suggested Maravich get out his lawn mower.
Opponent: Larry Hughes dropping 40 on us at the Bradley Center as a frosh on 1/24/98. Amazing.

Sure 'nough do. Pistol was leading the NCAA in scorin' at 44.5 per. The Warriors held him to 20 on 4 of 13 from the field.
Probably 2 favorite moments as an undergrad in the student section.
1) Freshman year, Novak's game winner against Notre Dame.
2) Sophomore year after the huge hype all day with College Gameday on campus, Kinsella draining 3's. I thought the removable stands that I was on were going to collapse.

Pretty sure I remember Pudi being selected to shoot a 3 for free pizza one year and he was wearing a beanie and sagging pants and hit some fall-away that set the student section off. It was nuts

This one for sure. Had been up for 36 hours straight by tipoff, only to learn our best player was out. Nothing like curing the letdown than the Kinsella surprise.
Was front row my freshman year when we clinched the C-USA final versus Cinci in D Wade's final home game. Rushed the court and was sandwiched between Wade and Merrit.
Are you a chick?
