Maybe half way down the page is MU v. Wisconsin
MU in a rout 81-68.
They wouldn't even come close and that's just the starting 5.
Jimmy is the better NBA player, but in college Jae would start over him every day all day.

Same with Butch Lee over Doc at the point.
It is crazy that Jim Chones jersey is not retired. If the reason is he left before the season was over, that is a poor excuse.
our B and C teams would be pretty good too
Based on a quick glance a couple blatant ommmissions. Keith Lee, Memphis, Harold Miner at USC and Byron Larkin at Xavier.
We would KILL them.
Chones, Lucas and Wade, absolutely.
Thinking the others would be George Thompson and Bo Ellis. Or Bo and Butch.
I would have a tough time leaving Big Mac, Earl Tatum, Damon Key or Wes Matthews off this team. But Butch and Bo would be my choice. We'd NEVER lose.
IF we were doing a full 12 man roster. This crap wouldn't even be close. Wisconsin has never had great talent.
Also if were not going to go back to the Warriors, can we go back to the old eagle? That logo >>>>> the MU logo

Butch didn't play the point. Lloyd Walton, then Jim Boylan for his teams. Dean Meminger should be the starting PG - easily better than Doc in college.

The MU logo is good, but the eagle as secondary would be nice. Much, much better than the golden chicken we have now.
Trying not to be a homer ... but please.
The Warriors would win by as many points as they cared to win by. As several have suggested, five who weren't even listed (say, Meminger, Lee, Tatum, Thompson and Ellis?) also would beat Wisconsin's best five -- and that wouldn't be close, either!

Think about this: if you filled out both sides to the 13 scholarships allowed, Marquette's all time leading scorer and the only MU player ranked top 5 all time in both points and rebounds probably wouldn't make the roster.
I am not sure why they have UW and Marquette in this.

Butch Lee
Bench
George Thompson

What do you all think of this? I wish there was a place on this for Lloyd Walton, Jerome Whitehead or Steve Novak!

Good list. I'd move Butch Lee to the 2 guard (where he actually played at MU), Wade to the wing and start Meminger at the point. Lucas and Chones would provide more than enough strength inside. Bo comes off the bench. I'd also add Tony Smith on the roster and probably ax Mac.

Limited argument. I like Mac's beef but if I was going to replace him, I would replace him with Jerome Whitehead. Either one would maul one of the Hughes zombies.
Tony is a tough one to leave off. he was so good. Jereal MacNeal was as well and tough to leave off. But if you're looking for 12 guys who are going to give you the best chance at shredded road kill, these guys would be it.

College, of course.
I'm surprised you put Matthews in there. Also part of the problem is that the heights don't add up to their positions anymore Don Kojis was 6'3" and played small forward, now days 6'3" is a small shooting guard. I'd personally throw Mcneal in there over him.

I'd put Kojis at 6'5". I'm 6'3" and when I stood next to him, he had a couple inches on me.

Dean Meminger in college as a guard, one or two others if he played forward. Of course, in the pros it is a different story.
Travis Diener needs to be in the discussion as well. He tore the badgers apart by himself a couple times.

The sad thing is that too many of these people are on that big pine bench in the sky, waiting for Al to put them in.
MU would destroy Wisconsin. Nuff said.
MUWarrior'69---Great lineup with all that talent, but where has our talent gone since D-Wade? We have NOTHING.
Bob Lackey, Sam Worthen, Tony Miller, Lloyd Walton, Terry Rand, Damon Key, Terrell Schlundt, Bernard Toone, Ulice Payne and Gary Brell and Bob Wolf. Plus what was previously named. Now that was talent. Our talent level has sunk because of inept
recruiting, coaching and the school bigwigs who could have cared less. The name is WARRIORS!
Also--JEROME WHITEHEAD, a 6-10 Stud.

Ya since Wade we certainly haven't had something like 10 players sign to NBA contracts, any big east player of the year, or the top two scorers of all time. Nope no talent since Wade whatsoever.
shouldn't the thread title be "I believe" not I think?
